Look again. B-Master's canopy has a color scheme of fading orange-yellow-orange. I have yellow-red fade.

I only edited the color, not the canopy.

Hey guys, check out my flight with a paper canopy!!

[ame]http://youtu.be/sII9Ut55TsU[/ame]

These canopies are such a brilliant idea. I'd choose one of these over a $45 mTDR canopy any day.

If in a crazy world they were both free... no you wouldn't(choose the paper over the mtdr).

But because one is virtually free and the other is 40ish... then yeah you would choose paper. I have both and love my paper canopy... but the german canos are pretty darn nice.

Ok, so I shelfed my mini cp and got a mcpx v1 just because of these canopies, lol. Well that and the Blheli code and huge aftermarket support. New request:

Can one of you guys whip up a mini protos template?

Protos canopy, not the best but havent had a lot of time
Youll need to cut the canopy a bit

Great designs guys, thank you!

I printed one of these designs and it was not to scale. How are you guys getting these to print out the right size?

Thanks. Should be easy on ink although I was hoping someone could make a template in Tempura to more closely resemble the the real thing instead of the tdr style.

Scratch that. My first paper canopy attempt was an utter failure and there will not be a second. I could have spent that 30 minutes of cutting and glueing making a mold to vacuum form my own real canopies...

Can anyone help?! Ive downloaded the green trex design and i want to edit it in photoshop but i cant find an image with a canopy or anything that i can edit and then import into pepakura! I cant find anyway to pull the image out of pepakura to edit either!

Also has anyone noticed much flight difference with the tdr paper canopy vs the stock canopy due to the added weight?

I also think a .pdo tdr file would be helpful so that we can make our own textures!

Here is my result with one of the previously posted tdr .jpg files. I found the original file printed too narrow, so I used photo shop to increase the height scale to 110%.

I am new to helifreak, and I enjoy flying my mcpx. I have an account on rcgroups, too. Can you please make it into another format (I'm not much of a computer type person; I don't know how to do it myself)? If you already have, just tell me what page it is on and I will look for it.

You just have to keep practicing, it takes time but you will get the hang of it. It helps if you apply packing tape to the paper first before you start. Then cut all three pieces out and start taping. Do both halfs of the canopy first, then tape in the middle piece to one side of the canopy, then the other.

Good luck,
Steven

And work from the nose back, especially if you're trying one of the 4-piece models.

Here´s a little timelapse I made to show the build. I use a combination of CA and Scotchtape, works best for me.

Cheers
