Default Transmitter starting point pitch curve and expo's percentage...

I just finished the ar7200bx set up last night currently my transmitter expo's are 100% and 0
My throttle curve is as per manual, my pitch curve is linear...

Transmitter is dx6...
What transmitter setup start point do you guys
Recommend?

Thanks guys... Will get this hovering soon...

Does the BeastX have you set your expo to 100? That seems really high!

I saw that too, but I think he means he has 100% rates and zero expo currently in the TX. If that is the case then I would suggest 20-30% expo, but I always adjust the travel rates using the FBL controller settings and not lower rates in the TX anymore.

The FBL controllers now dictate our cyclic rates, not the servos directly anymore, so for example if you have your controller set to give you a 300* per second flip rate, but you have say 85% DR set in the TX, then the reality is you are getting 85% of 300, so essentially 255* rates. The problem is you have decreased your control resolution by using the DR method. It's much better to leave the TX at 100% and lower the FBL settings if things are too fast. We didn't have a choice in how we calmed things down back in the FB days, but the old method doesn't have to be used anymore.

The expo values are personal, but 20% is a good starting point just to get a feel of things on the maiden.

I mean i left my dual rate and expo untouched and my ar7200bx parameter b (this is the control behavior) (takes care of the dual rate and expo) is Normal for now... Purple solid. Should i inhibit that or just set it to switch = on (transmitter d/r expo)
Thanks.

That's up to you. If you like the feel that the "normal" setting gives you, then leave it be. If you want more control, so you can fine tune them to your liking, then I think you would have to turn on your transmitter controls. I have never set up a BeastX though, so I'm not familiar with the settings available.

Right now i got it to a normal- flying pre set up. Will tweak the control behavior as soon as i get the feel of it so far all is set to default. Thanks for your input guys!

Please scroll to later part to watch the bird
Hover. Thanks

After like 2 weeks building this bird was really fun, thank you guys for your helpful inputs, i might be very annoying but you guys still helped me! Today i gave this bird its maiden flight.
I kinda playing with the sticks just to shake it down in but it holds good. Im still getting the good spot on tail gain... Right now i left it to 52% and will bump it up some more tomorrow.
Thanks guys.

What is the gyro range on the DX6? Is it 0-100, like the DX6i? Or is it -100 - +100, like the DX7? If it's like the DX6i, then 58 seems kind of low, and I recommend looking for vibes.

-100 to + 100... I dont see vibes but i will do, i need more flight time so i can get it fly better... Only when i pitch input it does it, the tail is somehow hard if you notice when i play with the rudder or is it normal ?
Thanks.... Again.

again thanks in advance,
What is your head speed? Its sounds low in the video, but sounds can sometimes be deceiving.

The Pro has a low geared tail and requires at least 2800 RPM to hold well. 3000 RPM is the sweet spot.

What pinion size and what does your throttle curve in that mode look like?

I have stock pinion, my throttle curve is 0-35-65-85-100 ( manual says at least 40-70-90 around that range) ... The only thing not stock is the ar7200x i havent play around that...

That may be part of your problem then. The stock pinion is 12T which starts the flight at 3300 rpm and ends at 3000 if running wide open 100% throttle. You are only hovering in your test video, so that means you are only hitting about 60-70% throttle position based on your throttle curve and setup with zero pitch at mid stick since the heli hovers just above mid stick.

That means your RPM is about 2000 to 2300 RPM in hover at the very beginning and only goes down from there as the pack drains. The sudden additional torque may be more than the tail can keep up with at that low RPM and may kick a bit. I watched the video and kick doesn't really look that much at all from the angles I could see.

Its easy enough to see if its an RPM thing. Switch into a IU mode where you have a flat throttle curve with 85% or higher and see if the kick gets any better on pitch pumps. There are other things to check if that doesn't solve the problem

I will set my TC back to where it was on my maiden flight. Will capture some video on the tail too. Thanks for your help.

Update: I set my throttle curve to 0-40-75-85-100 on normal mode 100-85-70-85-100 IU 1 and 95 flat on IU 2 , gyro gain to 55 and i set my parameter d menu to high its almost gone and the tail is not responding like a robot its softer and stops on a dime it might not be visible on my video but i am attaching it still its a couple or more though please let me know if i need more adjustment to my current set up, i want to increase my control behavior but i will wait till i get everything squared... also its a bit soft responding to input might turn up a bit my DIAL 1. thanks again

It looks pretty good to me. Of course much about our helis setups are about individual feel, so only you can determine that. You will need to fly some circuits to see how it will really behave since there isn't else much to be gained by just hovering, but it appears it will be fine.

One way to test how the tail will hold on this model is to simply get moving in a straight line fast backwards, and slowly piro the heli. If things are off, the tail will let go when you are sideways and snap around the remaining 90* to nose first. If it holds while fast sideways, then you will be fine for any sport flying moves.
