Default L700 Setup/Tips

Hey guys,

With people starting to get their new Logo 700s', I was asked if I could give any tips or suggestions regarding setup, etc.

So to start,

My setup is as follows:

Logo 700, stock
Scorpion 4525-520kv
17T Pinion
YGE160HV
JR8925HVs' for cyclic (european branded 8917HV)
JRMP82GWV for tail
Edge blades all around
Thor 6s 5000s both 35C and 45C (Both work perfectly fine)
2S 1350mah direct for receiver power
JR RG831B DMSS receiver using the JR XG8

Headspeed: 2050

For my V-Bar settings, I have attached pictures of my file below.

I do run around 13-14 degrees of collective travel and around 10 degrees of cyclic travel. That is all preference though.

I hope all this helps, If you guys have any questions either post them here or PM me, and I will try and get all of them answered.

Thanks, Jesse

The only thing that intrigues me is the super low head gain. I know the 700 has VERY rigid dampening and I assume the low gain is all that is needed with the hard dampening.

Comments Jesse???

Thanks for the look see. Always nice to compare.

If you run high cyclic, 10 degrees, with the cyclic ring set to 95, it needs to be lower. If it has too high of a gain the head will shake during piro maneuvers and such. You will find that if you try and run the gain too high you will run into theses issues. As far as I know almost all of the Mikado pilots who have been testing the 700 have their gains around this or very very close as well.

Very nice to know. I know the 600 most prefer lower gain than before with the SX head.

Thanks Jessie, that's the settings I'll start with.

Will Mikado be updating their software to match these settings as a starting point recommendation for new Logo 700 owners? Any idea?

Thanks
Steve

Doubt it Steve, there is no need for an update really "for now". I do however suspect we'll see 5.4 before summer of 2013.

Perhaps in there will be some more writings of the new models, usually they will do this when significant models of Mikado are into the market.

I just meant that if all of their pilots are running main rotor gains around 60, is Mikado going to put a marking recommending that the Logo 700 start around 60 on the slider in the vbar software?

Always looking forward to new software updates as well! Flies great the way it is, so everything else is just gravy! Can't wait to try vbar gov though

Just curious to see what settings are used on the YGE 160 for the 700. Are you guys using heli middle and plane fast and 2% startup ? I know it's pre-configured, but anyone knows ?

He's gain is tied to his setting in the setup, so your wont fly the same.
I have 95 or so in gain instead, with 8 degree in the setup step.

One takes out the other.

Ok thank you ill leave mine as is ! As I really need to just fly it and get some set ups of my own done first etc ! I have a problem with a tail wag at present which I'm trying to resolve which may lead to different set ups as I'm using the Kosmik as opposed to the YGE ! By reducing the i gain to 55 and increasing the p gain to 85 it somewhat resolved but not totally ! I have some small binding issues on the tail I've been working on tonight and should manage to test set ups the weekend !

I can't imagine how the ESC difference would affect VBar setup except for gov related stuff. I find my 700 (and of course all my other Logos and Aligns) run flawless with Kontronik ESC. Maybe I'll learn something though!

It seems many (if not maybe all of us?) are having tail wag problems. I'll start a new thread on this one or append to one of the others...

Cheers,

Don't know if Jesse is here to answer, but is there anyone else running a 1300mAh RX pack? How many flights can you expect to get out of it flying hard 3D?

I am torn between a 1600mAh 45C pack and a 1300mAh 25C pack from Hyperion.

Thanks,
