Question Chaos 600 Flybar uneven +/- pitch

Changing my Chaos 600E Flybar from my DX6i over to my new to me JR XP9303. In setting up the head I have the swash level and all the mixing arms level but, I have more - pitch than + pitch.

Tried jumping splines on the servos to compensate but that just seems to swap the +/- problem around to more + than - pitch.

I'm pretty sure I will have to start from scratch with the head setup and get the servos centered and then adjust the swash height up with the linkages to center the swash travel on the mainshaft. This should solve my problem but I was hoping there might be something I can try before starting from scratch again.

Ideas or encouragement welcome.

Crash

With any Tx change I have done, or heard of, it is almost always a VERY good idea to re-do the setup from scratch.

Red face Thanks for the reply

I'm going to go back to go and start again. Was just hoping that there might be a better way without so much fiddling around. I'll be more confident in the setup if I do a thorough job on the setup. Back to

Thanks!

to be honest, the only way to fix it is with the pitch curve....

i have had it happen even when not changing TX's. if you move swash up or down to compensate, all you do is move the extra degree or two of pitch from nev to pos, or the opposite. i have heard guys trying everything they know and not being able to work it out. with a FB heli you could, just change endpoints and be done with it, but with the FBL systems, your endpoints dont manage the amount of pitch, only the TX inputs to the unit to make 100% in both directions. usually the pitch is another setting in the sofware and you can only adjust it for one direction. it would be nice if you could adjust total pitch in pos and neg, but i have no owned a flb unit that would allow you to do this yet.....(ikon and bd3sx). but all in all, who really notices a half a degree?

Thanks for the reply Lovetofly1. I have managed to get the pitch problem straightened out by offsetting the servo wheels on the 3 collective servos enough to even out the +/- pitch. It seems to be working. Haven't flowen it yet as my last session at the field spooling her up she developed a bad tail shake. Don't know if I have the gyro gain too high or if it's something else. Haven't had a chance to trouble shoot it yet. Could be that the tracking is off but won't know that until I can get her in the air for a hover.

I'm inching closer! Crashmaster

I agree with the starting from scratch. Don't offset!!! Center your servos and start off by getting your 0 pitch. Adjust you +- pitch settings after that.

exactly.....do not offset the wheels....everything needs to be at 90. fix it in the pitch curve.....

Angry Linkage adjustment least of my worries

Put her in yesterday! Rolled into inverted rather than flipped. Lost orientation and in she went. Autopsy under way but doesn't look as bad as it looked. No electronics damaged. Maybe it is time to install the FBL head and Blackwidow controller. At least I'd have fewer linkages to fiddle with.

Not sure if my servos would hold up to FBL though.Hyperion HP-DS20-HMD, thoughts?
