Atom 500 with mini vbar 5.3
What settings are you guys getting best results at? I just got my first Atom coming from all Align and I think it is going to be an awesome heli but having trouble getting it dialed in. Has the slight shakes in fff and after sharp cyclic movements. Turned the gain down a tad but what are some numbers? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about vbar but for beastx I had to move the swash servo arm balls one position in to make beastx happy for cyclic resolution.
The links are no longer 90 degrees to the arm but it makes no difference in flight.

My links are on the furthest inside hole. Only 2 holes to choose from.

Just took a look at my Atom. It is on the 3rd hole inside. I now remember that I had drilled the 3rd hole myself.

Took out the kbdd dampers and used stock ones and the bobbing went away.also allows me to turn my gain back up around notmal. I got the chance to throw it around pretty good today and I must say once setup good it flies even better then my 700n! Love how quick it is. Also I used tf he top hole on the head and cut my rods down to get correct pitch range.i think I may have a new favorite. Align isn't bad for the buck but this heli is outstanding

The KBDD's will work great (actually better than stock) if thoroughly coated with silicon grease (inside and out). I have them on both my Atom 500 and Atom 550.
The shakes are usually caused by dry dampers, low RPM, or too high of a head gain. A good RPM setting on the Atom 500 is 2700 or a bit higher. The KBDD Dampers for the Atom are not currently in production and are very, very hard to get, so if you decide that you don't like them, I would advise trying to sell them on the forums (if they are in good shape)-they are that good. And yes, you do have to turn the gain down, but I did not lose any stability in doing so. If you send me a PM, I can sent you my Atom 500 V-Bar file for 5.3. I agree with you that the Atom is an outstanding machine, sir. Atom 550 with KBDD Dampers (Robird in this one):

Ok so does anyone else run mini vbar? I've been struggling getting setup good. I am running kbdd lime green dampers they are greeted good. At fff I get a wobble. My gain is as low as I cam make it. I put stock dampers in it goes away. Any advice?

I'll be setting up a silverline vbar pro on my atom next week. I'll keep you updated on how it goes with the kbdd green dampers.

If either of you want my V-Bar file (5-3 Pro) for the Atom with KBDD Dampers I can email it to you.

On an older KBDD lime green damper set I was getting some play in the head along the spindle shaft leading to wobbles on hard cyclic/collective stops. When I swapped it out for a new set of lime green dampers the play along the spindle went away and so did the wobble. Flies very precise now.
Is there some trick to get some more flights out of the old dampers? Maybe adding some washers or something?

You might try adding a thin shim washer on the spindle on each side.
My guess is that if the dampers are shot, they're shot, unfortunately.
