All updated gears and tail shaft installed! Quite a feat trying to get the bearings on the front and back umbrella gears. Method i used was using fine grit sand paper and rolling the gear on it till the bearings slipped on but still pretty tight.

ddj,
Gee, that all appears like you managed to fit it very well.
What a great looking job you did right there.

Perfect 'Align-ment'...

Well done.

Hey in your first photo it looks like your servo lead is really close to the main gear. It might just be the perspective in the photo though.

Remember the main gear is circular not square...lol. It's not even close. Only part of gear is cloae to frame is in middle. All servo wires are away from moving parts and secured with tie straps. Nothing flaps around or has any excessive slack.

Hi,

The new main gear is mounted correctly but still remains very tight, after doing some tests without the blades I have some white residue on top of the main gear, this is normal in the first tests?

The new transmission is hot after the first tests

Is this normal ?

Hi,

Another thing I've noticed, the fit of the black umbrella in the torque tube is not tight, has play.

I make another test with another black umbrella and have the same play.

But when I put the old white umbrella fits tight and don't have play.

Can be a problem?

Best Regards.

Can't believe I just dropped close to $1500 on this thing & now have to drop another $20-60 to get it right, To top it off, I can't even find the parts available in the States.

Not good Align!

This should have been a voluntary recall on Align's part

I think a lot of us felt the same way. With that said, it's only $20 rather than $60. You don't have to get the front TT gears and your kit may already come with the new main gear (mine did). My kit just arrived today and I'm putting it together now.

The only part that is having a problem is the rear TT gears/shaft. Dino has said a few times that unless your tail is humming then you don't need the new parts. I bought them anyway just for peace of mind but haven't decided if I will install them yet based on other questions about play in the umbrella gear.

A couple of places do still have the rear gears in stock as of right now here in the states.

It's definitely disappointing but once you start assembling this thing you'll forget about the $20 extra.

We all feel your pain but if its any constellation I'm here to tell you once you have the parts and you get to fly it, you will be one happy person. No doubt it's the best copter out there for the money hands down!!!

I'm sure I'll be happy when I get it finished.......just the principal of the whole deal that has me pissed off!

Mine shipped with all white gears, might as well go ahead & completely convert it & get it right. Gonn'a swap the TT gears (front & rear) on my 700 HWC Gasser conversion just to be safe.

I know in the grand scheme of things, $100 ain't that much cash if you're gonn'a play this game.........but still it's BS & I needed to vent!

Soapbox put away, thanks for putting up with my vitriol.

I agree.. Should have been an effort from Align, in conjunction with each "authorized dealer" to replace the tail shaft, and umbrella gear.. I've always been very happy with ReadyHeli, but on this issue, I've been totally disappointed in them. I sent an email to them a few weeks ago when the gears were getting ready to ship out.. Got a response that said "hmm, we haven't heard anything but we will let u know if we do" or something to that tune.. After US Hobby shops started getting them in, I called and left another message "Hey, I got a heli from you guys, what's the plan on these tail output shafts.. " All I've heard so far from them is crickets.. Definitely NOT what ReadyHeli is known for..
