The shorter hubs will keep the blades up out of the grass, and away from the ground on those rough auto's.
They'll still have lots of authority with 105's, the grips are spaced roughly the same as the stock tail.
The longer spindle length on the other hub makes alot less of a difference than the actual blade size itself.

We're probably splitting hairs at this point... with either the X800 hub or XT90 hub it's only a couple millimeters either way. You're not picking up much diameter with the XT90 hub or gaining much ground clearance with the X800 hub.

You do need the appropriate tail pitch slider for whatever hub you're using. The UP60050 tail pitch slider has the links offset slightly to work with the longer XT90 hub (wider grip spacing) and the X800-60050 has straight links on the pitch slider to align with the shorter X800 hub (narrower grip spacing.)

It would probably have been easier to go with a QuickUK Trex or Raptor setup from the beginning... that way I could deal with a domestic vendor that doesn't have any communication problems or parts mix-up issues.

Here are pics comparing the two pitch slider versions.

I'm quite happy with the Quick UK Trex grips and Raptor fork on my SE. But I hope to try the RJX tail this weekend and see how it compares.

Hopefully they sent you the right combination of parts.

I'm still waiting for an email back on my order from tonight so they could correct what they thought I wanted with what I actually wanted. And then I'll have to wait a few days to see if what they ship is what I ordered!

I will say if they sent you the correct parts they do fly extremely well.

Update to further complicate things:

RJX just emailed me a corrected invoice.

The following parts are discontinued:
XT90-60528 (tail assembly with longer center hub)
XT90-60222 (longer tail hub)
UP60050 (offset tail pitch slider for the UP60528 all metal tail and XT90-60528 tail assembly, both discontinued)

They have been replaced with:
X800-60528 tail assembly (short hub)
X800-60222 replacement short tail hub
X800-60050 tail pitch slider with straight legs for X800-60528 tail assembly

So for all new orders use the X800 series of parts.

It's not hard to see why they haven't met with much success in the north american market.
They make a decent product but their distribution is terrible.

That is an understatement for sure! Between the confusing part numbers, a questionable website, and parts going discontinued and superceded with new ones (in less than a month) it's hard to keep customers happy!

I'm trying to keep a small spare parts inventory on hand because I know I can't count on them to keep making what I'm running now or even ship the right parts in the future.

I'm now going to have a spare inventory of 2 pitch control arms, 1 package of spare delrin inserts for the control arms, a package of spare pivot balls, 2 complete X800-60528 tail assemblies, 2 spare X800-60222 center hubs, 2 X800-60050 sliders, and 2 replacement plastic link kits for the pitch sliders.

That's in addition to the UP-60528 all metal tail and UP60050 pitch slider that I currently have installed on the heli. I figure between 3 complete tail assemblies I should stay in the air for a long, long time.

The trex pitch slider bushing is just a little tight on the mikado tail shaft though, a few moments with a small roll of sandpaper sizes it appropriately.

Best tail you can do though is the rjx setup.
Second best is the quick uk raptor hub and grips with the raptor pitch fork threaded on to the stock mikado brass slider.
I like the raptor pitch fork idea...what version? 30/50/90? E? Thanks for the info!

Not a real up close shot, but here's the Quick UK Trex grips and Raptor fork.

That one does not appear to come with hardware...how about this version..
http://www.readyheli.com/TTRPV0504-T...0_p_36273.html
I see two main differences, one version uses screws to attach the links to the fork and the one I link to uses pins with c-clips.
Also, does this setup give you any more reach with the links? I have the newest Quick Logo tail with the offset that some are stating does not give you enough pitch in one direction.

I asked the same question and my understanding is the "offset" grips with raptor forks dont work.....hope someone will confirm this....

Thanx

I ordered the part number I posted and it came with everything I needed. You use the Mikado brass sleeve and slider, and just screw the Raptor fork onto that. The version I have also has the pins for the pitch arms, and not the c clips. The bolts and bushings that attach the pitch fork arms onto the tail grips came with my Quick UK tail. Depending on what grips you have, you may or may not need all the associated Raptor parts.

I ended up going up 1 servo hole with my tail and got a 54CW and 55CCW in the VBar tail setup, which is where you want it (40-60).

The raptor fork will not improve the geometry of the newer quick uk grips any more than the stock fork.
The new offset quick uk grips are currently under re-design to give them enough left rudder throw.

Benny, what is the reason for moving the tail servo ball link out one hole? Shouldn't the geometry be the same because you're using the stock slider? Just wondering here, because this mod is high on my to-do list.

Actually with 5.0, you can move out 1 hole on almost all setups.
Going from 13mm to 15mm and the endpoints usually end up right around 50 and 50.
With a bls251 anyways.

O.K. well i'm using a BLS251 and running 5.0, and i believe i am on the high side of the spec... 60 in one direction, and 48 in the other. This is with the stock tail. I will pick up the QUK T-Rex grips, and Raptor pitchfork and give it a try..

Thanks!

Incorrect, you can't use the X800 pitch slider with the XT90 tail assembly. The X800 pitch slider doesn't have the arms offset to fit the wider XT90 tail hub.

You need either the XT90 pitch slider with the XT90 tail assembly or the X800 pitch slider with the X800 tail assembly.

The latest part numbers per RJX, as the XT90 tail has been discontinued:

X800-60528 tail assembly
X800-60222 replacement short tail hub (if you want a spare)
X800-60050 tail pitch slider (with straight legs for X800-60528 tail assembly)
XT60054 tail pitch control arm

There's this German Logo-shop with some tuning parts, but I never tried one of those yet :

https://shop.strato.de/epages/612556...gelgelagert%22

https://shop.strato.de/epages/612556...0Kugellager%22

https://shop.strato.de/epages/612556.../Alu-Riemenrad

Anybody who has used one of those ?
