Default Successful Maiden Flight

I picked up two 600x over a period of several months. One was new with no electronics, the other, used, included servos and a Talon 120.
Wife got me the IKON as a bday gift. My only experience is with micros, 180cfx and a Blade 450x w/AR7200bx so it's taken awhile for me to set everything up.
Picked up some 3D Heliupgrades, battery tray, Ikon tray and Talon 120 tray to complete things. Thanks Rob, good stuff!

Only have one set of batteries. (kinexsis 5000mah 30c)
Wasn't sure about setting up a governor so just set throttle curves.
Flew 3 packs in the 450x to get rid of nerves before flying the 600.

Spool up was rock solid, lifted up slowly in normal mode.
Hover is rock solid as well as pirouette!
Went IU1 and flew around a bit, came back to hover and went IU2.
Went inverted, did a few flips rolls and loops.
From a hover I went full positive pitch, the tail broke out, so I need to address that, any help would be appreciated.
Looked at my timer and realized it never started so I brought her in to a soft landing. Timer wasn't set to start correctly, easy fix.
Checked the batteries, all cells were ~3.8v.
Felt like I really accomplished something after the flight.
The sticks seemed soft around center compared to my 450x.
Might leave it that way for a few more flights.
Looking forward to a great summer of flying!

Sounds like you had fun.

I had some motor bogging and tail blow outs in the beginning as well when going full pitch. For me, my headspeed was around 2000 and a bit slow to be running 12 degrees of pitch if I wanted to slam the sticks. Collective management was the key for me when running that HS.

I found though that I could slam the sticks around after upping the HS and dropping the pitch range to about 11.5 degrees, without blow outs. I believe I also upped or added a tail compensation setting in the BX, I'm not really sure if that made a difference or not. There could be something similar in the IKON, but I'm not familiar with it.

I'm running the stock motor with CC edge 80 HV and found that I needed an extra tooth on the motor pinion to have the overhead room in the governor to run 2250 HS. Off the top of my head, I believe my 3 governed HS's are 1800, 2000 and 2250. I'd say to start with your HS and work on collective management if you don't want to up the RPM's.

I suppose an easy thing to also check would be tail gain setting. If you don't have enough gain, the tail won't hold very well.

THere's also a mechanical side where you have to make sure there's no binding with your control rod.

Hopefully one of those things helps you out, if not, I'm sure someone else has more suggestions. Good luck.

Your able to run a pair of 5000mah in the 600? Didn't think they would fit, I'm running 4000mah and its a tight fit.

Thanks for the reply ABaze,

I did have fun and nobody there to share it with, had to fist bump myself.

I'm also running stock motor and pinion. Have no idea what actual HS I'm running but the calculator says ~2300 @ 100% throttle. My pitch is set +-12. I'd like to eventually set up a governor, it could be set up in the Ikon itself or in the ESC. Don't know what would be best.

Had my 2nd flight this morning, timer set to 5 minutes.
Total flight time was 5:24, batteries showed ~3.9 per cell.
I'll bump the timer to 6 minutes for the next flight.
