Default Lynx Ultra Tail Case

Have been considering this upgrade. Can anyone tell me if it works perfectly with the stock tail shaft or does it need the Lynx tail shaft to go with it? I would assume not, but wanted to be sure.

Anyone using it have anything good/bad to say about it? The stock tail seems pretty smooth. Although, I have noticed tail vibrations seem a tad high. Not too bad, just more than I would have thought given how smooth it is. This is looking at my FBL vibration logs.

I'd like to know also. I bought the part but like many things haven't put it on since the stock tail case is still intact and working.

I've been running one on a 300x and use the stock tailshaft. But, the 300x stock fin does not fit and I covered the included CF Lynx fin with white monokote trim for visibility. I broke 2 stock tail cases when I was having trouble with the 300x's org. FBL and everything was locking up, shutting down, and falling outta the sky. Only using the Lynx tail case and fin, the rest are stock parts.

I've purchased two more. One for my 360 CFX and another for the 450x build I intend to do. Neither one installed yet.

I panic bought mine late last year and they were hard to find then. Had to settle for a pair of red ones.

I put one on order. Now to decide if I want anything else aftermarket to go with it in the tail (bell crank, slider, tail grips). More leaning toward waiting to see what happens in a crash, if I do crash.

I hadn't planned on dropping a lot of dough into this project, beyond the necessity. Plan is to maintain until the Oxy 4 comes out and just swap electronics.

I had the whole Lynx ultra tail assembly on mine until I pop off a link on head when it was rebuilt it had a tail wag. I switched back to stock but it was real smooth when I had it on. Probably switch back to the Lynx setup soon much better than stock. My 270CFX I have a Lynx tail case with CF tail fin an Lynx tail rotor grips with stock pitch slider, bell crank & stock tail shaft. Both setups worked great.

Got the Lynx tail on using stock tail shaft. Haven't flow it yet, but don't anticipate any issues.

All with original tail shaft. The grips look just like the Oxy tail grips. I think they are the same.

Let us know when you fly it that way. It "looks" good. Mine is just blah silver. Of course the minute I got home today the winds shot up to 14 mph with gusts in the mid 20's.

One thing I was not expecting was after adding this stuff to the tail, having to completely start over with the tail tuning. It has been kicking my butt a little but I think I finally have it working pretty good.

What size tail blades are those...68? They look long.

62mm. I have since switch to 60mm due to a blade strike with the 62mm. Stock is 64 or 65 I think.
