They are the low power units so as to not interfere with the tx/rx so the range is around 10m??

Yep

Plus you get telemetry for free.

And it's cheaper than the prog disc.

Win win win

I think I remember reading that the Bluetooth module is a Class 2 device, which as Jamin mentioned is about 10m range. The iPhone is also a Class 2 device.

I believe the 10m range is average, through obstructions. In open air with straight line of sight, the range could be higher.

I don't, however, think Kontronik planned this to be some sort of telemetry unit. They have an option to shut the module down when the motor is turned on, which means there's worry that the BT module could possibly interfere with the transmitter connection.

As far as the Progdisc, I think it'll still be needed to do firmware upgrades, unless they can somehow allow the app/phone to act as a progdisc in the future.

That is correct the nature of Bluetooth is not stable enough to do firmware upgrades. I am sure if it was used we would see the number of bricked units go through the roof. Usb being a physical connection is just so much more reliable. If the quality of Bluetooth is improved in the future which it is getting better we may see it but that's still up for debate.

Did anyone manage to program a Kosmik with the BT module and the iOS Apps (iPhone)?

Somehow it does not work for me - they randomly connect only via BT and programming doesn't work at all
