Can't quite seem to work out the AR function. I've got throttle hold set to 25% but still spools up slowly. Have found 55%=1394, 62%=1566 and 70%=1765. This leaves plenty of headroom for the gov. Theoretically, you should get close to 1900HS at 80% if that's your thing.

No meaningful flight report other than it works. Just did one 5 min flight. I forgot what a presence this heli has.

BTW, soft start is very soft and I've loosened the blade grips quite a lot. It is very soft, doesn't kick the heli at all and looks very cool.
Nice, what time delay have you set for the soft start or is it still default (12s)

Got my spool up time set to 8 seconds...starts very soft, spools up smooth with zero kick. My progdisc did need upgrading...

I left it at 12S. I thought about making it longer as it looks really cool and scale.

I just got an email from my distributor saying they want to send my ESC back to K after getting an email from K yesterday stating there are issues with the crimp on the yellow motor wires and need to do a harware change on the SD card. Three week turn around and then I read your other thread on this

Safe to fly so they're not getting it back just yet.

Jayson,

I wanted to make sure that I didn't say they were safe to fly...MINE appears safe to fly as the crimps are nice and tight. It's also my understanding that if you contact K, they'll send you what you need to fix stated problems...I'm not sending mine back...

Jim

Mine is not going back either. As said they send the cables out.

I gave mine a good tug and one came out and the other 2 are fine.

So I soldered it in so it will fly this weekend

G'day Jim,

I have spoken to our Australian K distributor and he has told me it is OK to fly, sent me an email to that effect. I am not using the yellow motor leads as I have my motor directly connected to the ESC. I will be sending it back to K but not until I have a window of opportunity that fits in with me. I'm still not sure about the SD card thing though. Hardware change would indicate to me they are changing something inside the ESC

Do the throttle endpoints get the same way as the Powerjive still. Mine gets to quarter stick before it spools up currently?

Also my Progdisc only seems to connect sometimes?

Sometimes it comes up with

progcard
progcard 2
Heli jive
F3a jive

Other times it goes stright in the programming mode and lets me play, what am i missing??

Leave endpoints at default, kosmik is 'precalibrated'

It wont spoolup until above 35ish% (for the reason jayson said, AR bailout)

Thanks

I sorted the progdisc out and set the gov etc and the BEC to 8v as I plan to run a lipo as a buffer but when I stuck a multi meter on it tells me only 5.6v

Plugged the Progdisc back in and that says 8v?

Im missing something here lol

It always boot at 5.6 then switching to preset voltage when done with boot, so check when "good to go"

Another quick question MrMel if I may just so I understand.

I'm running a 2s Lipo as a buffer as its said with the BEC set to 8V then this is ok to do. You said that when the Kosmik first starts it outputs 5.6v then ups to what it is changed to, I have not checked this yet but how long does this take?

I mean I plugged my lipo's in first then I waited a little while then plugged the buffer pack in. Is there any set sequence I should be doing with this or not. Can the buffer be plugged in first or am I doing things correct?

This morning when I flew with it I was amazed at the spool up. Never before has soft start been so accurate. It just comes to life ever so gently then creeps up to the desired hs and away it goes. Even using the big 4535 today it came down just barely warm even though the motor was too hot to hold a finger on!!

Love it and if its like this all the time its money well spend imho.

I'm with you Ben,

I got four flights in today and the soft start is awesome. My Silverline Vbar is playing nice too and the heli is rock solid.

The new Pyo 800 is barely warm and 5:00min flights at 1760HS give the required 20% left in my TP 5000's. Just have to sort out the AR function and all will be sweet. My mate tacho'ed the HS with a new Miniature Aircraft tach and said that was rock solid throughout the flight. Very happy with the K gear.

This heli is such a crowd pleaser (and pilot pleaser) that I'm always asked heaps of questions, mostly,"When are you flying it again?". It sounds awesome, flies awesome so all I have to get is some awesome skills to match.

Haven't had a chance to look at the log yet but will report back on amps etc soon.

Did I mention I was happy already?

Right or Wrong, that's the way I did it myself too, Kosmik boot first, then buffer pack.

I have a question . . . is anyone going to buy the Kosmik 160? Seems like all the talk is about the 200. Are there any significant differences?

I was going for the 160 myself but opted for the 200 for 2 reasons

So I did not have to wait anymore

It has a stronger BEC

The 160 is not out yet thats why no talk of it.
