Very happy with my 3G which I've had since first release.
My 700n is rocksolid.
Standard wiring configuration too. Nothing wrong with the small wires/power bus as far as I'm concerned.

New addition is a 550e 3G which I will enjoy tweaking.

I am undecided. I just put the sensor on 4010 tape/copper plate/4010 tape sandwitch. I haven't tested it yet, so if it doesn't tail kick on me, then I am satisfied. Any tail kick at all = unsatisfied, and will DIRECTLY result in the 3G system being in the trash can...

Sort of... The system is better than folks say; get the heli setup well and the system works very well. However I have traced two weird behaviors on spin up (resulting in minor rebuilds) to their crappy plugs.

The plugs rely on little wires acting as pins. If the wire/pin gets pushed in a bit in the sensor female plug, you can get an intermittent connection that really kills. I am thinking about directly soldering the 4 conductor cable into the sensor (like the Spartan gyros).

Thoughts, or best on another thread?

Undecided as after weeks of playing with the setup I haven`t actually flown the heli properly.

Tag wag in the hover and in forward flight which I suspect is vibration related is the problem.

Flying again tomorrow to test it out after another sensor pad change.

Still got the 3M tape to try and also running the heli with fixed endpoints.

I've got 5 flights on my new 700 LE 3G. I couldn't be happier! Other than an almost insignificant tail issue, I've never seen a heli be easier to dial-in to my liking.

I converted my 700e conversion to 3G....excellent results. Went out and bought another for my 600E a few days later. Both fly like on rails and are quick and stable. Not sure why a few have had problems, all I know is when they 1st get it...upgrade to the current software, then back the gains down to 10:oclock....It will fly great at the default settings...provided the heli was setup properly to begin with. Tweak from there if needed. I fly some 3D and big air...

I'm happy with mine for the most part. If you do your homework and figure out how to tweak it properly you will have good results. Do I think it is the best system out there? No. But it isn't as bad as people have lead it to be. I honestly have to say, mine is flying better than I thought it would.

Default Nice to know reasons for failures

It would be another more complicated poll, but I suspect many of the 3G "failures" are set-up issues or problems caused by the extra electrical demands of direct-link torque loads. The question is: How many dissatisfied Align 3G users were first-time FBL users? Perhaps the same problems would have arisen whatever FBL electronics they used.
Thoughts? - especially from dealers or people who sell/support heli buyers and see other people's problems?

I didn't care for the tale twitch on both my helicopters, I decided not to go with the update but after reinstalling my Spartans the system works fairly well.

Hindsight being 20/20 I would have gone with another Vbar for the cost.

Very well written, my thoughts entirely, at last some sensible reasoning.

I have the 3G Version 2.1 on my 700E and love it. Easy to setup and fly's like it's on rails. Unreal inverted stability in gusty winds.

This is my first FBL and I was really worried with the bad rep it had in the early releases, but it looks like they have gotten most of the bugs out in V 2.1, and it can only get better.

Can those who have it set up perfectly please post up their sensor pad arrangement?

May help those of us who are still having problems.

Have you read the sticky at the top of the 3g forum regarding this?
