Default USB Programmer

Hey guys. New to castle products. First question is I have a Ice 80 HV and wanted to verify that I DO need to have the red wire in tact in the connector for the receiver lead?

Second. I also got the USB programmer and hope to make use of it fairly easily. With the CC BEC Pro and the 80 HV that I have, can I permanently mount the USB device to the heli and make a connector to tap into the ESC lead and make another connector to plug into the BEC?

Reason I want to do this is only having to plug in one thing when I want to get info from the esc and bec.

I can't give you a positive answer on the first question, but I do remember seeing something related on their website.

As for the Castle Link, I plan on mounting me BEC Pro inside the frame so I'm gonna attach the jumper wire permanently to the pro and the Link I'll probably use 2-sided tape and mount it on the outside of the frame for easy hook-up. This is my plan anyway, I haven't executed it yet. I'm still soldering and building a wire harness for all my wires(servos, etc.).

The jumper wire for the bec is a homemade thing right? I dont think they make one.
Not a problem to make my own

With the 80HV you DO need to keep all wires intact. The HV ESC's do not have internal BEC's.

The directions show the wire, but I don't think it was supplied with the Castle Link ( which doesn't make any sense), but I believe it did come with the BEC.
