That's interesting. Tower has them listed as available early February still..
Anyone know of an online retailer that has them. My LHS doesn't do hobbico.

Don't wait until it shows stock for the sensors. If you want one you need to order it. They fill back orders first and then if there is stock left they will reflect that on the website.

FWIW I've been using the GPS module for about 6 weeks now. I've flown it in a smaller (62-inch) 6S pattern practice plane, a 2M pattern plane, and my 3.7 meter thermal duration glider.

I have set up max and min alerts for a number of things and also set switches to announce the current value of a given parameter while flying. I rarely look at the screen until I land. When I do land I can see what the maximum and minimum values were for that flight. So far it does not record for later download, but you can still get good info.

The distance reading can be set for surface distance or slant range as well.

The R7008SB RX also sends RX voltage without any additional sensores and you can get motor pack voltage by buying the small wire sensor that is currently available (CA-RVIN-700) Stock number FUTM5551.

For the voltage you can set low voltage alerts and have it both vibrate and speak the alert voltage. Lots of options and some very interesting info can be obtained during flight.

I've known about the Robbe unit for awhile now, that's why I am excited about it slowly making its way over here.

Very interesting tear down photos, test procedures, etc. After seeing all the PDFs, we're getting a bargain for these radios!

So will the models set up on an 8FGHS transfer directly to a 14SG?

Got mine preordered today.

Hi, I have transfered 15 models all with either MSH Brain or Vbar and on my 14SG they are identical and not one setting or calibration needed. Even Castle ESC have had the right endpoints. I did check and calibrate each one though to be sure.

You will need an SD card, transfer each model to card on the 8FG and then from card to 14SG.

Got mine on back order.
Cant seem to find anywhere where it mentions providing lat & long gps position, pretty useless without this info for me!

Also, am I able to use that sensor and one that coming out for the Kosmik too. Can I have more than one device on it and the radio can read both as the Kosmik have a device called TELLME which provides telemetry from the ESC to the 14SG

Just checked the UK importer and it now says June the GPS module is due!!

Sod that, I'll just get the GPS module for the Kosmik as that will be the same and no doubt much cheaper than the £150 or whatever it is lol.

Hi folks,

Just read through this thread. I've got my new 14SG and have a question. I noted the posts referring to the LiPo battery from Robbie. The manual in talks about an optional LiFE battery. It even comes with a spacer that's inserted in the battery compartment to allow for the LiFE battery as it's slightly smaller than the NiMH battery that comes stock.

I've not put enough time on my radio yet to have a good idea of what kind of run time I can expect from the stock NiMH battery but am wondering if it's really worth swapping to the LiFE?

Any opinions? (yeah, I know, dumb question, but that's where it's at! )

Thanks & Fly Safe,
Steve R.

I've had mine for about a month now, and am not considering the battery upgrade. There's really not that much difference in Mah of the packs and I got 8 flights on mine today + an hours worth of tweaking and bragging about its features and it was holding up fine. Thats more than enough time for me at any field any day. I dont use the stock charger tho, have made a plug adaptor to a digital charger so I can charge it in an hour or 2 if needed! Some people just feel the need to upgrade everything!

Thanks Klinger. That's good to know. I do have a Hyperion charger that will do NiMH batteries but I think I'll stick with the factory charger for now. If I get the kind of transmitter times you are, it absolutely won't be a problem.

Fly Safe,
Steve R
