Hi, first of all I think you did good work for sure, besides the time needed.
I know after all that criticism in the past you are happy to present your work and to criticize now would be unrespectful.

But let me be honest to express my feelings and dont be too mad with me, I expected more. Besides from minor fixes all you did was too improove the governor and I dont even want to use it because the set rpm is still limited to 3 banks. It may be the use of most 3d smackers but not state of the art and no motivation to use the FBL Gov instead of perfect working ESC governors today with that feature..at least for me.

I will need some more FBL units this year and as a friend of features the competition FBLs like Beast and Spirit e.g. are getting very intersting.
What I want to say is that I really hope you have more plans that can be realized on the Brain plattform, IN NEAR FUTURE. If you need again one year for the next update you missed the boat.

I may be wrong with that I may be right. I may be overbearing to the possibilities you have.

Maybe you can do more specific and realisitc anouncements about further steps.

Nevertheless I will fly the new Brain with pleasure and may even test the Governor against leading ESC Governor.

One question too, what happens if I change values with the Android software like rotational speed? It seems like it saves the old common value as well as the new for ail and elev.

And one hint.

Default New Software/Firmware 1.0.010/1.3.050 is available

Besides the governor, there is pitch pump and tail drag compensation. These are major features, not fixes.

Yes, try the gov. It simply blows away any ESC gov and likely all other FBL gov's on the market (haven't tried them all yet. ) if you are demanding performance from your machines at all you will really like it. It was very hard work to get the gov to this level.

This is just the start for 2015. There is a lot more coming and it's very significant stuff you guys will love. The updates will be more frequent now that this milestone was met.

Is there any need to recalibrate the fbl gov after the update if you was running it before update without issue?

Like endpoint recalibration or something like that?

You will want to retune the collective and cyclic feed forward. On collective mine is much higher now. Start with 30 and see. Otherwise no, you don't need to do anything. Just see how it performs and tune as needed.

Great, thx, i did the update, and after that i selected my helisize (700) and pressed the "3D" button for my flightmodes, i guess thats a safe way to load the new defaults, after i did that the tail dynamic was still on 50, didnīt i read that it was going to be 6 with this firmware?

Soo, the old default for gov pitch precomp was 5. Is it still five or is the default now higher.
Just updated firmware my firmware on my 700 electric.
gov precomp gains (feed forward)
pitch 11
cyclic 8
tail 1

Do I need shift those number some with the new firmware?

As a future request, add the default value in all the tooltips

You don't need to change them, but you can get a lot more performance now by bumping up the pitch feed forward.

I will love,

Configure 9 channel or more on brain. (Ch3 and Ch4-5-6)
Configure one channel only for autolevel.
configure one other channel for governor. When is off, brain use radio gaz curve same as Align governor (nitro setting great)
Best autolovel more stable

Many thanks

Jc

How does this work then on the align gov?
In the brain you use 3 curves to select 3 gov options
1st curve 30 30 30 30 30
2nd 60 60 60 60 60
3rd 100 100 100 100 100

If you would switch of the gov with your switch at 30 throttle the ground will be fast approaching in my case 60 is also useless so only 100 would be a valid option.

So how does the align esc knows which speed it last take with for example a normal curve 0 25 50 75 100 or a v curve 100 95 90 95 100 ?

I also heard to other systems have more options but how do these work?

Do these use a flat line let's say 83° which maps to 83 throttle in a normal curve. And with a know or some mix on the TX you can shift the whole line up and down to adjust in a range of +/- 10 %

So....should the tail dynamic be on 6 or 50, it still defaults to 50, but on release notes it should be set to 6, what is correct?

Use a value of 6 for a TT heli. 20 to 30 for a belted heli as a start.

The heli size presets should set the tail dynamic. If not it needs to be corrected.

I guess looking at it deeper, I'm more lost than I thought. It appears that I now have to get into the Advanced Menu, which I was trying to avoid for now. I'm really at a loss because I don't know what all of this stuff does:
  1. Tail Dynamic was still 50. This is a belted tail heli so I changed to 25 per recommendation in this thread. Make sense?
  2. Under Cyclic Regulation, Integral Gain is 60, Feed Forward gain is 5, and Rotational Speed is 240, all for both Aileron and Elevator. All other values vary between the two, and some aren't even close. Are any of these supposed to match my "Cyclic Gain" in Basic Panel 12 (setting up banks)? If so, I'm in trouble because none of them match.
Sorry, but I feel I've been thrown into adjustments I wasn't ready to deal with. That's ok, but I haven't even maidened this heli yet, so I need to make sure everything is right.

Sounds fine. Only rotational speed needs to match. Ail/elev are supposed to be different.

If you are ultra worried you can restore the unit to defaults and repeat setup. Then never look at adv setup until you feel ready.

(just thinking aloud)

Wonder if it would be simpler to walk through the existing configuration, or just reset everything to defaults and start afresh?

Is new software able to import the old configuration file (without hidden hiccups, that is)?

I updated all of my birds to public last night. Took about 5 minutes on each including the time to pull it off the wall.

Update will pull your current values and set the new features to neutral. If you currently have 350 degrees/sec set on your cyclic rotation, once you update your ail and elevator will be set to 350. It is advisable to double check each bank to be safe, but you should not need to redo every step.
