Default Tail control rod

I had a problem with the plastic tail control rod end that slips onto the carbon rod.
I think it may have had a bubble or some porosity in the plastic. When I screwed in the M3 grub screw I noticed the plastic got a little deformed.
I did not over tighten or bottom out the thread, and it got me worried. A little bit of back and forth and it broke.
I made up a couple of aluminum pieces, as these little plastic ends are not sold separately, you have to buy the entire assembly and I don't feel like waiting a week for parts to arrive, (I'm not lucky enough to have next day delivery here like most of you guys in the USA)

I just made up a couple of aluminum parts to replace the plastic. I threaded the part that slips over the carbon as well so it will grip the epoxy better.

I know this part is not new and has been used in the 800XXtreme so this must have been an isolated case I guess.

Ahhh...the (lost) art of modeling. When something doesn't workout just right, you create your own solution

Your "fix" looks good.

Thanks for your approval Dave
Almost finished the build, I've got a couple other ideas in the back of my mind.
Here's a hint of what might be next
