Default Beastx 4.2.0

4.2.0
Basic functionality
modified flight parameters and gain settings on cyclics according to our team pilots, giving and more stable and precise control
limited function of control loop when heli is standing on the ground to prevent from swash showing weird movent and prevent from tilting of the heli by accident during take off
Internal RPM Governor
softstart can be disabled using StudioX for use with ESC that have built in softstart, i.e. Castle Creations ESC in "External Governor Mode", ALIGN RCE-BL ESCs in "Heli linear mode/Heli mode 1" or other ESC with softstart (but no governor!)
Added governor rpm display when switching into idle up showing the set rpm and actual rpm, giving a better clue to see if TX is setup correctly and what rpm the system is sensing (see: Governor usage)
AttitudeControl
added vibration detection to prevent from using wrong sensor information when vibrations are disturbing the sensors (this can lead to AttitudeControl not leveling super accurate anymore, especially after a few flight minutes doing 3D flight and FFF, but should be accurate enough for leveling and saving the heli in case of emergency)
modified stopping curve and stick fading when AttitudeControl is enabled; gives more precise stick control and more smooth heli movement; no more servo jumping during bench test
modifiable stick angle in StudioX Expert Parameters for Flight trainer mode no acts as hard angular limit.

Installed 4.2.0 in my Trex 800 , BX Pro HD but no bailout.
Will fly this weekend.
Looking forward to try in X7 with bailout and see if it works better.
With 4.1.0 , leaving the bailout on and trying to fly, it interacts too much and trys to level.
Lowering the gain feels much better but bailout flips too slowly.
No real sweet spot between feel and flip rate.
Hopefully this will address that.

I think they meant that the unit monitors the vibration and send some feedback to "AttitudeControl" so that it can work at least properly under some serious vibration cases. But I hope the vibration level can be visualize through the software in the future.

Flew both helis with 4.2.0 and can report it is a very good upgrade, especially on the bailout.
It used to take a lot of stick to overcome the self leveling, but now its much improved.
Cyclic seemed to feel a bit crisper too....like you took out 10 points of expo.
Very nice.

Just tried 4.2 with bailout. What a difference in a good way. Much more stable and repeated well.
This was on an agile 7.2 running about 1100 hs. Definitely have more confidence in the bailout now.

So does this mean you can use the Castle auto bailout with using the BX gov?

One certain FBL system out there their bailout will level on angles and shoot up, and they claim it's atleast in tolerance by 10% witch is Total Bs.... if you ask me.. Beastx is and has always been reliable. At least for me....
Bx is more than capable of adding vibration analysis, they were one of the "first" with the 6 axis.
Keep up the good work hope more is to come.

Default parameter settings for Rpm governor

Greetings from South Africa
I just updated my beastx to software 4.2
I am flying an electric Logo 600 with a kontronik esc with governor mode enabled and just installed a kontronik pyro motor. Suddenly I have a vibration, so I am not sure what settings to use in the microbeast's parameter settings J-K which is all related to Governing Rpm?
I did find the factory settings in the manual, but I am not sure if I can disable them all or stay with original settings

Hi,

when you use the governor / heli mode of the Kontronik ESC setting in the Microbeast has no effect. This is only used when the internal governor function of Microbeast is activated. But this is not necessary/not possible to use with a Kontronik ESC, which have an excellent rpm governing built in already.

Thank you Stefan
Clearly understood now.
So as long as governor mode is disabled, it does not matter what parameter settings for Rpm are set at as they have no effect.
Greetings Danie

I did the update to 4.2.0 and did some testing.
Before the updat my rescue mode was working great. I honestly didn't notice any difference in the self leveling part, it felt just as good as before. The starting up (initialization) is slightly faster now. Maybe i need to test the Beast harder to notice the difference

I installed the latest firmware and the changes to attitude control are good. It now behaves itself much better when testing on the bench. Works fine in flight but then it already did before. Can't say I've noticed any difference in feel on the cyclics in normal flight. But no problems either.
