No I didn't have to move that - I did spray a good amount of tri-flow on all the bearings though... careful not to get it on the ball.

Has anybody tried the Thunder Power 1350 batteries? I hear they work well, but you have to modify a few things to make them fit. I bought a couple, but haven't had a chance to try them. Might have to modify the canopy....

I tried to get it in there and there is no way it's going to fit.

I have the TP 1320s and they fit after a small frame mod... i had to lower the battery tray angle a little. To be honest i bought the tp's about 12 months ago for a foamy that i orderd and the plane never showed up... but i feel the tp's dont have the same punch as the align 800's

Yeah I guess I'm a little sensitive

I already have two teenagers and the thought of any more babies just freeks me out! Baby helicopters are cute though, and they don't grow up and ask to drive the car

What i did was remove the batery tray and drill a hole 1 mm below the front most hole on the frames ( where the battery tray mounts ) then grind down the top of the frame just enuff to let the battery tray mount back on... ( the battery tray sits ontop of the frames so you cant just drill multiple holes to adjust it like you would with the 600..) it took about 5 minutes to do. i have the battery mounted with the leads facing the front of the bird, you have to tuck the wires under the battery tray, the canopy is exacticaly the same I.D. as the batterys O.D.

Yeah like I said "non-trivial" modifications aren't my gig... I like to keep things as stock as I can - seeing as how I'm not a helicopter engineer, I'm always a little hesitant to modify something that the actual helicopter engineers thought was right

one interesting thing i found while building this little heli is the following.

i tried to disassemble the tail to get the new tail mod installed. but i couldnt get the screw open. i thought i stripped the screw and was already a bit disappointed. but after investigating i found out, that the screwdriver align gave me with the kit was turning inside itselft if you needed to much force to unscrew / screw stuff in ... like a little torque wrench.

i assume that is not a feature and my screwdriver is broken, so i just want to suggest that ppl buy a matching screwdriver ... 0.9 mm is the german size ... before they start working on this little heli. also the align thingie is kinda tough to hold imo too short and too heavy.

My wrench fitted well but I agree it is too heavy - handle too big making it too easy to shear the tiny ball threads

What was your setup before. was it set to 4mm, or over 5mm.

Ive set mine at 4mm to try and give as much torque as possible. I would like to have it closer in, but physically cannot because of the servo splines.

Many are using higher torque servos to overcome the high forces when the blades are spinning.
