When I hook up the grey wire whilst on the software, the state boxes check and uncheck themselves while the servos do their dance. Just plain weird.

It is very possible to use it without autotrim but it really is a nice feature.

It does have a 2 year guarantee. One of mine has just developed a fault and it's just out of guarantee.

OK, I will contact the seller and see if it is still in warranty, but I doubt it. I have been sitting on this unit for about 8 months. I waited for the season to end, then put all new bearing in the Joker, switched over to the Airtronics SD10G and figured I'd set up the HC at the same time.
Somehow this thing is screaming "stupid mistake" at me though.
I thank you for the help.
I will sleep on it and see if anything falls into place in my brain pan overnight.
BTW Ivor, are you in fact using a Futaba? At least that would give me a starting point. Right now the transmitter and flight pack batteries are charging, so I am forced to take a break....

Just catching up with this.
Any value over 65% will enable Autotrim, you also may need to have the collective above 30% before it will change the autotrim settings. (Depends on setup, but can be checked in the software).
As you have tried it in two different channels it would seem unlikely to be a receiver problem.
The state boxes should remain stable and only change when requested.
A slow blinking means that the unit is not communicating with the receiver.
To me it sounds like a faulty unit - especially as Ivor cannot replicate it.

Ian

One more thing you are connecting the grey wire the right way round to the signal input?

I assume you have tried a master reset and then set up again. You could also try sending them an email, they will not answer my emails but I think thats because I use my real name on the Flymentor threads but there used to be good at answering.

Trooper,
If you mean proper polarity on the grey wire, yes.
Thanks for chiming in.

Ivor,
Master reset as in hold down set button, power up HC, release set button, press and hold set button until LED flashes red/green, yes. If there is another way, please advise.
Thanks,
M

OK, I have done everything I can think of. I will test the HC on my Pantera or Trex 600 which are using the same servos and using AR9000 receivers and my DX7 just to make sure there is not a radio system compatability problem.
I sent an email to Captron describing the problem. Thank you all for your help. If it does end up being something with the radio or my set up, I will post here for posterity.
