Bert, can we have music just playing during the contest without flying to it?

Music is preffered but not neccesarry. Music adds a bit of choreography to the flight which is always a big plus.

Nolan,
If that is the HoJo on North OBT ( Hwy 441). I have not been over that way in a few years, but it use to be a pretty nice motel. I know there were a few pilots that have stayed there when the Orlando heli contest use to be held. Dave Carter's shop use to be about 1/4 mile from it. It should be less than 10 mins to the field from it, it that is the one.

Yes, I'm pretty sure thats it. Looking at Google Earth it has a lake on the backside. It's just north of Piedmont Wekiwa RD.

Picture shows relation to the flying field.

Default Hotel

If anyone is still looking for a hotel I just found what looks like a decent cheap place to stay that is located in the Altamonte Springs area that is only $32-$37 a night depending on which room you want. It is less than a mile from the restaurants and malls in that area and only 9 miles from the field.

Here is the link to the hotel info in case anyone is interested.

Here is a link to some user reviews of the hotel:

Nolan,
That is it. That is a Walmart Super Center at the interesection just south of it. You should be able to bet to the field in less than 10 mins from the motel. Depending on traffic. LOL

Thanks David, You going? See ya there if so.

Tony, That rate is based on Thur-Monday. It changes when you shorten it. Thur-Sun is $41.40 for a double. Not bad at all.

Good stuff to know and I ought to decide wheter or not I'm going soon and make some calls.

The tranny in my truck done blowed up and it's costing me about $2800 to fix. Will have to see if I can still afford to go after settling up.

Hey guys, unfortunately I have bad news... Alan Szabo and Jason Krause had to cancel. Alan has some last minute family commitment and Jason is going to be traveling to the Align factory in Taiwan to work on a project.

..... HOWEVER... We have plenty of other top named pilots coming, including Bobby Watts, HC, Matt Botos and Jared Granzow to name a few, . A bird also told me that Marcus Kim MIGHT make it too (not confirmed though). Not to mention many others...

Ray Nemovi is coming all the way from California, Derrick Threatt from rcheliresource.com is coming from LA too, Bert Magbanua from team Raptor, Tim Jones from Align, Big D... Too many to mention them all.

My friend Vic Campbell (the owner of V-Blades) will be here and Leon Luke from Align is coming all the way from Canada. There are pilots from France and even from Colombia, South America.

Sponsors are already sending donations in. Looks like ReadyHeli is donating a nice Logo kit and a complete flybarless system from Mikado!

If you haven't pre-registered already, please do!
