In reflection, this is what I "think" happened in my case. I think I did have some sort of tiny reset when I flipped the SL on although I didnt have any flashing sats that said I lost connection. What puzzled me at first was the force at which the heli instantly slammed itself into the ground. It was mentioned that I must not have had my failsafe setup, which I thought I did, but I set my failsafe using the TX by rebinding with my TX in its failsafe settings. This has always been the only way I know regarding Spektrum equipment. I then discovered the failsafe dropdown in the SK software, which up until now I didn't know existed because there is not one single mention of it anywhere in the pdf maual or in the wizards. When I originally bound to the unit, my collective was at full low, and I "think" that this setting in the SK unit was able to over ride my failsafe settings I thought I was setting up on the TX side. It would then be logical that a momentary loss of signal would slam the heli into full negative pitch. What should have been a little blip turned ugly. How I managed to fly the unit so many times in another heli without issue and the failsafe set incorrectly until now is beyond me. I've had two major crashes with the unit to date, and I know of two others I would have had and the bailout saved my butt, so I'm even at this point which isn't too bad I guess. |

Although it could have been a poster here that said that.

Nothing in the wizards at all about it......only the setup of the head and pitch. I've also read the manual cover to cover many times and never remember even seeing it mentioned, but I deleted the original manual after the first or second revision. I've heard that the newer manuals aren't as detailed as the original and that is the one I have.

Drive system tab has set throttle failsafe.
See original manual section 11 step 3. It only mentions throttle position. Not sure if it can set pitch too? Not according to the manual anyway. Nick

Of course you can set a failsafe pitch position.
You can also test it with the motor and esc disconnected. Just turn the TX off, and look at the pitch value in the SK software. It should go to the setting you preset. |

Thanks, however I have rev3 but theres no mention of pitch setting for the failsafe. It only mentions throttle.
I think the other guy needs your manual though if he only has the new one. (I interrupted his thread, sorry) Nick

I'm not sure which version of the PC software you are using, but there is no throttle fail safe setup on the Drive Tab of the current version. Only the throttle high and low end points which is not the same thing. The fail safe setup is under the Utility drop down at the top of the page which one would have to accidentally discover because there is no mention of it anywhere.

No worries and thanks for the help. I think I may have the old manual on one of my other PCs somewhere. It really doesnt matter in my case at this point. I found where to set the FS now, up and you can bet it will be done after the rebuild this time

The card cannot be over 2G. I tried larger cards once just to see what happened. Nothing. Lollz.

Poor timing.
I guess it is just poor timing on my part, but it is annoying none the less.
I change a motor because of high vib's and then I find out that the software has a bug and now I can not even check if my new motor is doing better. I'm sure this is what caused my 600 to tilt over when I did my maiden and caused a blade strike. The bird was on the ground and just tilted over quickly, this was after a few hover flights. I had set it down and was about to go up again and it just rolled over. I figured they would of had a fix out by now. This wasn't an issue in previous firmware's. It should be a simple fix. Starting to second guess my pick on a controller for the 600. My others are flying fine with their BeastX's. I guess this is what I get for wanting the fabled GPS. |

Aaah, this is perhaps why it took me weeks to even notice this thread. So technically it's fine to leave the logging on if you don't run the SL function on. If you use SL it may tilt randomly or reset?

As far as I know, the only confirmed bug is what has been stated in the OP which was directly copied and pasted from the Skookum robotics website. There is a lot of speculation and other non related issues being falsely blamed on this logging bug. I'll admit, I started to incorrectly believe some of the anecdotes of this bug causing problems in SL but after re-reading the bug description, Skookum never once mentions SL being involved. Art is vocal on here when he needs to be, and I believe if the problem was truly linked to SL, he would have directly come out and said so.
