I don't use them myself, but I've heard great things about the fuel magnets.

I really like the Lynx MOAS for the clunk. My favorite clunk line is this:

Been using them for a little over a year and haven't replaced a moas yet. I don't keep them soaking between flying days either. I don't fly very often so your mileage may vary.

I using Synergy's clunk line, it's clear, thicker and more flexible than the stock Align fuel line.

The Synergy clunk line, on second thought did not seem to be as good as the stock line. It developed a hole when I had to install and uninstall the clunk, so for now I'm using the stock clunk line with an OS bubbleless clunk.
I was told to through the stock line, in the kit away, but I'm glad I didn't because the stock line and stock clunk line are different and both are good. btw: does any body know an easy way of installing the fuel tank nipple and grommet it's a pita? |

I've been running a Lynx MOAS clunk for two summers now. The fibers are still mint. I'm running an Os55HZ-R with backplate pressure... That could have something to do with it.

I use the MOAS on my 700, with Lynx clunk line. Has really seemed to work well for a season now. No header tank. I see now the line is no longer available. I still have some stash to use. Probably change to Align if I need more like the stuff like jiminator referenced.
On my X50, I have sintered brass clunks in both the main and header tanks. Hayes medium clunk line. Both have worked equally well.

My main concern with MOAS type clunks is that, when the fibers break off or break down, where do they go, dissolve into the fuel or trapped by the fuel filter or enter the engine? I run my tank dry after a day of flying, but with the foam/fiber clunks it's recommended to leave fuel in the tank (if I'm not mistaken).

I think the moas is alien tech as it never seems to break down

I would think the fibers if they broke down would be trapped by your filter between the tank and engine.

I was going to order a MOAS clunk, but Amian was out of stock, so I ordered the OS bubbleless, which is pretty impressive. Do you keep fuel in your tank when storing? How do you install/or what's the best way of install the fuel tank grommet and nipple?

I don't keep fuel in the tank between flying sessions. To install the grommet I use patience. When that fails I generally just yell at it. Somewhere in the middle of that it finds it's way into the hole.

I've tried many different methods, I'll try yelling at it, it couldn't hurt .
There's got to be a better way. |

If someone would make a system like the Quick UK hole block-off that many use on the Trex 700 to move the fuel inlet to the outside hole on the tank, they would have a winner. The Quick Uk has a grommet with a washer on either side and a bolt that goes thru the middle. When you tighten up the bolt it squishes the grommet and blocks the hole. MinAir made something like this and it was a bit easier to use. Might have to look around for a stash of MA fuel tank parts to see if this would work on the Trex tank.
Just found this: http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/TREXSTOPPER.html might have to give it a try. |
