Flaw in the tail?

The previous owner of my Xxtreme reported tail kicks so I decided to strip the tail to check the obvious.

I couldn't find anything with regard to incorrect assembly however i'm concerned that the shim between the bearing and thrust bearing isn't held in a specific location by the blade grip moulding.
i.e. the axial travel of the shim is only limited by the spindle so it can shift and contact both inner and outer races of the bearing simultaneously.

Am I missing something?

I think he is talking about the tail kicking on spool-up. From what I remember reading this was an issue on early kits. I purchased mine at IRCHA last year and I have very little or no tail kick depending on the surface its on.
