That motor has a 4mm shaft diameter according to the spec, which won't fit with the Mini Protos pinion. You can get a longer motor shaft from MSH, but not sure if it would fit that new motor or not.

If Scorpion knew there was enough interest in that motor to go in the Mini P then they might make some shafts for us. In the meantime, if you want to try the Scorpion motor with the warp pinion ( motor pulley), in the Mini, you can do so with no upper bearing support and no active freewheeling or auto-rotations. I just tried a warp motor pulley on a Mini P belt and it's a match. I say go for it!

what do you mean by active free wheeling? Isnit that a function of the esc? why cant you use it?

im not familiar with the warp pinion where can I get one?

no upper bearing support ? do you mean the Y support that goes on top of the motor adaptor?

I have not had the mini Protos that long so learning new things all the time.

I dunno, I might be way off, but I presumed for active freewheeling in the yge to work, the motor would have to have a working one way bearing. I might have this completely wrong.
Buy a warp motor pulley from anywhere that sells Compass parts.
Yes I mean the y support. Probably do without it with the 4mm shaft.

I don't know how well it will work with no OWB, stopping it will be a bit harsh I think.

Active freewheeling will not have a part to play in this setup, thats only to do with how the ESC handles partial throttle %.

how is the pinion supported form slipping off the motor adaptor if there is no y harness?

MSH are the ones that would deal with these motor shaft?

If I went to a engineering shop that can cut metal im sure they could use a machine to cut the top half of the 4mm shaft to the exact dimension of the shafts that fit the mini P.

When u go to 0% throttle, the motor stops getting driven and stops spinning soon after, the owb opens and the blades continue to spin.
Using the warp pinon without a owb, the blades are directly connected to the motor spinning, so when you go to 0% the motor stops getting driven, but it will keep spinning as the blades will make it spin, depending on how tough the motor is, this may cause the blades to decelerate rapidly, possibly kicking them around, tipping the heli over.

Where is everyone ordering the new donks from?
I should be able to get a shaft made for me.

Update:
I found some on ebay, its on its way, I will have a play

Using the Warp motor pulley on the Scorpion motor, the grub screw holds it in place - no need for the y support.
I can't say for the Scorp motor, but I've effectively used the msh1300 with a locked up owb and it's no problem at all, just no good for autos. The Mini will be an animal with the Scorp.

A good excuse to put the OWB in the maingear.

Active freewheel is not something mechanical. Essentially when the motor coil is not powered up during the PWM cycles (time measured in microseconds), the motor sends an opposite current through the ESC. Active freewheel actively switches on an electrical bypass over the ESC output leads at the exact right time, so that current will not produce as much waste heat in the ESC components, and thus also increases efficiency of the power-system.

I wonder why MSH decided not to put the OWB in the main gaer?

Oi, if you're keen, email Scorpion and throw the idea at them. I think they might be obliging. Well, I mean if they know there is enough interest in using that motor in the Mini P.

So has anyone contacted scorpion about possibly giving us a shaft in this motor for our minis. if someone has i will not bug scorp again. If no one has I will contact scorpion. Maybe lynk heli would be interested in making a shaft but it sure would be sweet to purchase this motor with correct shaft already in it LOL!
