Default Clintstone's B-Day Heli Bash - 2008 Jan 18-21st

Well guys Julie says we can do it another year. For those of you who have never been it is just a laid back event that I don't have to travel to get to. After dark we night fly, well sort of, we turn on the lights and usually I have to run Bobby Watts off the field at 2 or 3 in the morning. We have 2 flying sights, 1 in my backyard and one is at Ray's field (RHR). I will post the dates later but it is usually the 25th of Jan. or close to that weekend. We never know about the weather but we always have fun.Anyone who has saved the directions please post them. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Dates Jan. 18th - 21st............Monday is a school holiday!!!

Motels
http://www.georgiahotels.com/cities/...boro/index.asp

To Rays field from Clintstones
From my house we will go right on Old Riggs Mill Rd. to Cypresss Lake Rd. ( Approx. 2 miles ) we will turn left @ stop sign onto Cypress Lake Rd. and travel to next Stop Sign which will be the By-Pass. At the By-pass we will turn left and travel to the end of the road where we will turn left and travel North on Hwy 25 .

Turn North (left on Hwy 25) and it is approx. 12.5 miles to Womack East.

Coming from Statesboro you ill take a right onto Womack East and travel 2 miles and turn Right into Rays field.

From I-16:
Head North from I-16 and 301 ( Exit 116 towards Statesboro )
It is aproximatley 10 miles to the By-pass where you will turn left (@ Texaco ) and go to the end which is aproximatley 7 miles. From here pick up the above directions.

These are the Directions from my house to Ray's field. If you need to get to my house from I-16 just follow to the by-pass and turn left and the first intersection turn left and that will be Cypress lake rd. then cont. on to Old Riggs Mill Road which will be on the right maybe 5 miles. Once on Old Riggs Mill it is about 2 miles on the left. 2014 on the mailbox.

Coming from Agusta you take 25 from Augusta and stay on 25 thru Jenkins County . Look for the Bulloch County line and once you are there it is between 1/2 and 1 mile on the left to Womack East where you take a right to go to the field. It is 2 miles on the right.

GPS coordinates for Rays Field
Ray's field:
N 32* 37.0421'
w 81* 52.7182'
This will get you within 500 yds.

Clints house is located where the Rd is located on the lower Old Riggs Rd on the map.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...53988&t=h&om=1

Clints address
2014 Old Riggs Mill Rd
Statesboro GA 30458
Clint's House:
N 32* 24.747'
W 81* 52.562
This is my Backyard.

That should be enough information to get to Clints house. It is really only a couple of turns after getting off the exit on I-16 from the north that goes to Statesboro.

David

Always a blast. Julie is the greatest hostess in the world.

Well I am not speaking for Clint. But I do know him fairly well. LOL He would not post it on a public forum unless he was inviting those that want to attend to come on. It is a great event in the dead of winter here in the South. Not knowing anyone is not a problem, you will not know anyone till you arrive at the event. Then you will know everyone. LOL

If you can come it would be great but the little ones are what it is all about. It was great seeing you at Mac's.

David is right, everyone is invited. Over the years there have been many people who came to this event and when they got there realized everyone is there to have a good time and the fellowship is there reguardless of the weather.

Let me know the date ASAP please. I have a lot of stuff going at my "real work" and want to make sure I can get the days off.

This is the EXACT location of Clint's House

I may try to make it depending on the date, how long a ride it is, and my class schedule.

And your point is? LOL
Clint and me and Bobby drove from Statesboro GA to Atlantic City NJ for an event. It is just a thing. There was people last year 800-900 miles drive to the Bash.

My point is that he is a college student just like I am. If he is any way like me, he doesn't have the $$$ to drive all the way down the coast. Sorry David, but some people actually have negative money and I am speaking from experience

I'm all for going to events but student loans are a bitch and I just thought the 800 miles was a bit excessive for a college student. Heck, even though I live in Atlanta I probably wont even be able to go because of gas prices and the fact that I have an older car.

Man, I've got enough points for free airline tix but the timing sucks. The wife will be traveling the latter half of January... I'd love to hit up some Eastern fun fly action one of these days...

This is a 3 1/2 hour ride for us and roughly 200 miles...it's definetly a long haul but we might be able to manage.

He may be using some of the loan or grant money to make the trip. LOL I can understand being a student. I have twin daughters that I put thru college. Was just pointing out that it is not uncommon for people to drive 900-1000 miles to attend an event.
