I always had some lateral flexing of the canopy in the area near the motor to the extent that the vertical control links chipped the canopy. In the top of the second picture above you can see one of the fuel tubing braces I've used to brace canopy in that area.

The magnetic canopy mounts are working out great

I just went back and re looked at your pics and see the little pieces of fuel line for the canopy support .My canopy definently flexs in as it has worn the anodizing off of the edge of the motors fan from contacting it.I built a new tailboom for the stretch last night from a stock G20 belt drive boom which is .740" longer than the G20 TT boom so I will have good clearance now.I just have to build a new TT tube for the Dog bones now.

I also had evidence of motor-canopy interference before I installed the fuel-tubing bumper/brace. I'm using a larger motor and maybe the clearances of the N640 canopy that I'm using are worse then the E640 canopy.

I'm hoping you could put out your stretch kit BOM at some point.

I finally received my 660mm wide cord blades.I was concerned with a mainblade to tailblade strike since I did the tail gearing change which moved the transmission forward some. The 660 MS Composite rapids are a factory cut down 690 wide cord FBL blades.I think the surface area is very close to my RotorTech 690 FBL blades that work so well since the cord is deeper and the tip is not tapered.I just got a little test hover in today with the new blades as it will not quite raining but it felt like hover was about the same on the colective.I am hoping that these fly as well as my RotorTechs .

I have tried a few different MS Composite blades over the years and did not find any of them to fly near as well as my RT's.

Well we shall see ,but since MS comp and SAB are the only ones making anything in this size range I do not have much choice. I did allot of reading and found lot's of people complaining about the SAB blades in this size and lot's of people liking the MS Composites new blade design in this size.I want to see how they work and if I like them they may be tested on the G20 with the Hanson motor ? May be to much blade but there is only one way to find out.

I though 640mm was the largest for the g20. Did you put a longer boom on it to give the clearance needed?.

The G20 would probably fit 690's depending on tail blade size. The question is will it spin the 660's or larger blades ? I think the gearing would have to be changed so the motor stayed in the power band and the headspeed was lowered..

E640 number one finally had it's test flights today with the 12s power system and the new Scorpion HK-3536-510kv. This motor was designed for the Trex600 Pro.The nice thing is it is a bolt in for the E640 due to it's smaller diameter to fit in the narrow setup of the Trex. So far it feels fairly good but it is working, unlike my big Hackers that are never breaking a sweat. The motor and esc where fairly warm to hot after 2 flights where as the hacker was just warm. I will be taking some temps on the next flights.I set the esc as per Scorpions recommendations and it sounded good and the governor worked nice.We shall see how it goes over the next several days.

Well I have 6 more flights on the new motor and so far I am very happy except for running warmer than I would like. I did one flight with the canopy and let things cool down then I did one without the canopy and the esc was way cooler and the motor was better but still warm.So the canopy ended up with a larger frt cooling hole for the esc and the upper part got a hole for the motor. This heli has the N640 canopy on it.I flew a few more flights and the esc is staying way better temp wise and the motor is better but still fairly warm. Some more flights without the canopy and things are cooler but not allot so the holes are working well.I need to remember my temp gun as this may just be how the scorpion is going to run as people are always saying they run hotter than most The heli sure feels the weight loss as it now weighs 9.17 pds

I need to do something like cutting a hole in my n640 canopy with the texas summers. The motor is hot before I take off. I've been unsure of what would work. Could you share a picture of what worked for you? Thanks!

Glad to see you where out having a good time Charles,I had a good day of flying yesterday and am about to do the same today I hope.

Distructor here is a picture of my canopy killing holes. The main holes are the one about the scorpion decal that puts air straight into the fan area of the motor and the large round hole in the frt that puts air straight up at the esc. There is a small one under the nose I had put in before. It was almost Texas temps yesterday and the same today with 28-30deg c in the shade. We are not use to that here so it is a good test for the motor ,esc and pilot to see if they can take the heat

Default Century E640 finally done and test flown

Thanks for the picture. That well be in my action plan. I also need to find a way to get some shade where I fly, as everything including my transmitter is hot to the touch before I takeoff.

I really like what you have done to the tail fin and the rear part of the boom!! two thumbs up!!

We had some great weather overall this past weekend, so I got to log a good deal of flying on two of my small birds that had been 'warming the bench" for awhile. The Hawk Pro and the Swift 550SE both got a good, well deserved work out.

You did not have to do that Distructor, you can remove good parts and set them on the shelf So tell use more as it is kind of different looking damage Hope there is no frame damage on it. My day is coming and it may be soon. I was out the other night playing with night blades in the dark.
