Default Telemetry #8 released: FrSky S.Port

German article.
New firmwares in the autodownloader for JLog2.6. (firmwares for JLog2.5 and 2 will follow soon. JLog2 needs JSend because of the inverted bus (S.Port))
You need the newest JLC6, at least JLC6.0.0.4.

Tom, I am admittedly unfamiliar with JLog. But I own a Taranis, and am considering trying a JLog to take data from my Castle Edge 100 ESC, and send it back to my Taranis as telemetry data.

I'm mainly interested in getting mAh-used from my Castle, so that I can go beyond using a timer. But pack voltage, amps, and maybe ESC temperature would be nice. Anything beyond that (ESC throttle %, headspeed, etc) would be a bonus. I want to be able to set up alarms on the Taranis for at least mAh-used, and pack voltage, based on the data it's getting from the JLog.

I don't require actual logging on the device, the Taranis will do the logging for me. I am using an X-series FrSky receiver, and might try my iKon's governor in the future. It sounds like the JLog supports FrSky's S.Port telemetry system, rather than their older hub-based telemetry system. So that's good.

Is this the unit I would need?

Is there a better suggestion for my application, or an approaching update that I should know about?

Can any Taranis owners provide feedback on how this setup works? With OpenTX 2.0 released, I'm hoping that hasn't caused any issues. I see that this should apparently work, but I haven't come across posts from Taranis owners talking about how well it works (or any issues they may have experienced) in the real world.

Thank you.
