Cant get this screw out :(
Had a rough landing and need to replace tail rotor pitch control slider along with tail blades.
Tail blades removed but this hex screw on top has left me cursing and scratching my head. Tried soldering iron heated up.. thing won't budge. Ideas? |

You mean the set screw which holds the tail hub to the shaft?
Should be normally loctited with blue so that it just requires some force. If it was done with red, heat should work to melt it. Other than that... no idea.

I was surprised to find that when I bought a quality set of hex drivers, many of the difficult to remove screws weren't so hard any more.

It is hard to believe how much a difference a good hex wrench makes until ythe first time you remove a "stripped" bolt with one.
