i have one,,, its a prototype and i use it seence sommer 2010 it works superb, i replace it with a Futaba BLS 251 and it outperforms it easy.

I learnd that this time 4.January should be the Date when it will be avaible and shipt out to dealers.
The testing which has been done on those new servos is second to none.

i promice the waiting will pay of!

Wait the way you worded this confused me. The torq servo outperformed the futaba. Or the other way around.

IMO the Outrage 9088 outperforms the Futaba 251 by far. To me the BLS251 feels spongy off center. Now, I do like the Futaba 9256 just as well as the Outrage, but the Outrage wins b/c #1 it's a BLS servo, plus it makes wiring alot more simple as it's HV capable. Now on regulated setup, I do prefer the Futaba, IMO the Outrage needs 6v+ to shine. I have not tried the 9188, but from people I talk with that have flown both, the newer one is ever so slightly better, in their opinion.

Will the OR servos even work with 5V ? I suspect not.

Capi...the original, original Prototype TORQ servos would not even power up under around 5.8 volts as I remember...although not spec'd nor recommended for any voltage under 6V I believe the production servos will actually still remained powered up down into the low 4v range...the input volt spec is 5.2v to 8.4v. Basically...you need to run off of a min 6V set up...not the older common 5.1v setup.

I run 2S direct setups, but I know the 5V issue come up atleast a few times here on the forums. Same deal with the narrow pulse for the tail servos, not everyone reads specs before they buy

boy is that not the truth! Or they know the right settings...but then don't set up the gyro correctly and never save the settings...then I get calls that the servo is DOA...

first thing I ask now when I get the "my servo is DOA....won't power up at all" I ask the customer what gyro...normally it is the Align gyro...as they forget to save the setting...they see the correct light blinking...and cycle power...not saving the setting...I bet I have had 20 people call me since the TORQ Tail servo was released with this issue!

I've run them on the AR7100 on the regulated port and they work well, but you really need to play with the ball position on horn to get the feel I like, and they aren't as fast IMO as a older Futaba 9256 is at that regulated voltage. I prefer the older 4.8v type servos if you are running regulated. On unregulated setups the Outrage shines with the simplicity of wiring and great performance.

I'm one of THOSE people. But thanks for your help back when I needed it
And thank you for your help on my recent 9080 to 9180 swap with CME Hobbies.
