Default I'm joining the club....

I've been thinking about getting a Compass for a long time and I'm stoked my 550U will be delivered on Tuesday! Can't wait to see the quality first hand and making this one of my go to helis. I've perused some useful build tips already in this forum - like Scott Bowersox's Tail Build Tips video. Do you guys have any other words of wisdom for the somewhat experienced builder? Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to joining the Compass family.

Here is a pic of the more expensive parts that are ready to go and that's a YGE 120LVK and a voltage sensor:

RAM,

If you need anything, let me know.

If you want to look at my 6HV-U, we can meet at Whittier or the Rose Bowl and you can look it over. I can look your machine over if you want me to.

I am flying several mornings a week at Whittier now.

Ah Clem,

I'm going to Whittier Narrows tomorrow. Will you be there?

On a side note, how do you get the pins out of the tail pitch slider? I need to pull both of them to make the ball links silky smooth. I'm totally stumped as they are just about fused to the ball links and it seem like an arbor press is the only way to slide the pins out.

Thx,

Rob

Rob,

I will be there tomorrow morning (Probably with the Chronos).

I have removed those pins-you can get them out several ways-if you can grab the edge of the pin with pliers sometimes you can pull them out, alternatively a drill chuck.

If you want to bring just the tail collective spider in the morning, I can take it home and press the pins out with the arbor press.

I'll be there. Drill chuck is a great call. Could you bring yours? I don't have one that's small enough. Alternatively, what would you use to push the pins out with your A. press? I have a press as well and can't find anything substantial with a smaller dia...

Thx

I think you can press them out with ball link pliers as well.

Let me see what I can bring with me.
