Default Team Mikado's newest member.

I want to publicly congratulate Jacob Gitin (age 11), as being Team Mikado's newest member.

Jacob (and his supporting dad Mark), made the effort to prepare for, travel to, and win the 2011 IRCHA Amateur Nationals. Jacob was flying a Logo 600.

And apparently, Mikado was watching...

Well done Jacob (and Mark),

Dave, the grin on his face this past weekend wearing the team shirt was priceless.

I've had the pleasure of flying with the Guitin's almost every weekend for the past 2 years. Jacob and I both picked up the hobby close to the same time and had lots of fun learning things together. But in the last 10 months some pretty amazing progress started. At about 6 months ago he went on a family vacation determined to learn piro flip reversals. The very next week he returned and was pretty much doing them on the deck. Likewise, he decided to learn a true kaos (rotating piro flip) and pulled it off in what seemed like less them a week. For sure Jacob has a very special gift, and it's been great fun watching the ridiculously huge progression week after week. He has really shocked the Heli community in the bay area with his progress in the hobby. He accels at technical maneuvers and is really a perfect fit for Mikado.

Congrats Jacob!

Wow... he put on a great demo flight. Seeing that flight in Morgan Hill and seeing the one in IRCHA, you would think they were different people. Amazing indeed.

Congrats! He really deserved this, with that amazing flying he did at IRCHA, Center stage non the less.
Even if I could fly like him my legs would have been gel just by standing there...

"...IRCHA, Center stage..."

Yep. Doesn't matter who you are, you never forget your first time flying "IRCHA Center Stage Flight Station", with everyone watching, the pressure is on, it's the chance you've been waiting for, and you have to walk that ever-so fine line between an impressive flight and a crash.

2008, Ralf Buxnowitz (owner of Mikado) walks up to Kyle unexpectedly, and asks Kyle to fly Center Stage in Team Mikado's "Power Hour". The knees started knocking...

Congrats Jacob and Mark! I've enjoyed seeing the practice sessions this summer! I'll be sure to take some more videos once I have more time to head to the south bay.
