C'mon ... not having a card reader isn't a problem, it's an excuse!!! 14MZ owners didn't get card readers with their radios, yet when it came out, model files were easily available. Card readers are relatively cheap and widely available. IF you own one of these radios, you need to get yourself a CF card and reader.

Default linkage comp. inop.

I was one of the 12Z owners that complained that my linkage compensation adjustment did not appear to work. Well, I finally got around to rerigging my Cal 30 Eccpm and now the adjustment works. The changes I made in the setup were very minor, swash mix and pitch range, but the compensation now works.
One thing that I still don't understand is the asymetrical pitch travel. Starting with the servos locked neutral, blades at 0 pitch, bellcranks perpendicular, linkage lengths equal, and servo arms at 90 degrees, I ended up with 11 degrees positive and 7 degrees negative pitch. I fudged the servo neutral and extended the pitch curve negative side below -100 and clipped the positive side slightly short of +100. After doing this, the interaction adjustments were very minor, some requiring no tweaking at all, but all the adjustments did have an effect.
Now I'm not saying that the basic setup is what I would really expect or like to see, but that it all worked out. The model flies much better than before.
One of the earlier posts elluded to the possibility that in those setups that the linkage compansation did not work, it could be a combination of swash mix, throw. etc. Maybe it is.
Now I'll see about the Stratus.

Check the position of the bell/hiller mixer and set it so the bell side (the long link from the swash) is at 90 degrees to the swash rod. I've found the same thing you did in my fury tempest and after making this change (and before I went into swash detail) the +-pitch was was the same value.

Unfortunately, after cranking in a lot of link compensation the problem with uneven travel comes back. Even the collective roll and ele will not be even. I checked this both with the swash leveling tool and pitch on the blade angles. So as the solution I used the independent AFRs to get even values. With unmatched older servos this is a typical problem.

Chuck--- My Stratus worked out about the same as your Tempest and I also used the AFRs to get the values correct. The Cal 30 neede this also.

Many posts about the issue found in this section of HF, you may want to do a search for further reading.

Update doesn't seem to do anything to help in this matter.

Some people are having this problem, other are not.

Some that have had the problem, suddenly stop having them.

Futaba/Hobbico is aware and supposed to be looking at this issue, however no word has been provided (after several months).

I guess there are more having this and other issues as I have gotten a few pms and emails concerning this issue. Not sure why mine started working on the one model, try making a new model and see what happens.

Only CompactFlash cards will work! Stay with non-Ultra, non-high speed CF cards (CF type I) from known vendors like Corsair, Kingston, PNY, Samsung, etc.

re-check the "low pitch" in the linkage compensation menu , it WORKS

fine WITHOUT changing anything . Big thank to RCfan. You are the man...

Notsip,
Check on the information menu in the 12Z and tell us what the menu page says.
It is the System menu, then scroll down to Information.

Should see this:

Editor / Encoder V. 1. 0. 4 / V. 1.31

Editor / Encoder : V . 1. 0. 4 / V . 1. 31

before update it is something like :v.1.0.2/v.1.24 if I my memory serve.

now both side high and low pitch Works fine . Thanks RCfan again...
