Default My 1st Shuttles

After many years gradually gaining experience and working my way up from MCX2,MSR, 120SR, Simulator MCPX and a season flying B450.

This Shuttle Plus 2 above will be my first nitro helicopter ! I'm looking forward to a nice warm day to maiden it.

Although it will likely be another year before this old Shuttle Plus flies I am slowly
acquiring the bits and peaces needed to finish it with the Electric conversion.

Just thought I'd share!

I fired up my shuttle for the first time today and ran it up to just bellow liftoff.

After a good inspection and function test, I am happy that the helicopter is ready
to begin hovering and Final setup!

I am going to bolt on the training gear just in case something goes astray but I'm quite
pleased so far with the helicopter If the tail gyro does it's job I will have the gear off
as soon as it's trimmed up!

Update! Just landed from maiden flight!
She Flies!

Default Shuttle

Glad to hear the good news! I got some repair on mine to make, flew too close to a brick wall.

That's a drag man, Hope you did not damage it to badly!
I managed 4 Shuttle flights while setting up the tail yesterday afternoon and had a blast.

Granted I only hovered it around the back yard, Non the less the helicopter felt very good
and I am quite pleased with myself and the helicopter.

Then flew B450 and MCPX Brush less before calling it a day.

As it turned out, the screws holding the clutch came loose. I can't believe I didn't use thread lock! The red is on them now. I plan on having it airborne later this week. And keeping away from brick walls!

The 2nd one I have, the motor isn't responding to the esc.

Default Update

Since test hovering my shuttle.
I have burned a gallon for fuel. I tried flying B450 the other night, it just did not cut it any more so I sold all 7 of my electric helicopters, and picked up another nice nitro helicopter!

Looks like I'm hooked on nitro!
And the Shuttle flies great

Default Thanks T

This thing is a blast to fly! Love it.

I am also doing a scale version of the same helicopter with an OS .37 in it.

In the picture it is shown with a Raptor 30 helicopter in it but it the helicopter is in pretty rough shape so I'm hoping to instal a nice new Shuttle. The shuttle is just built and have ran the engine once but not flown yet. I'd like to get 50 flights on it and work any kinks out before installing it in the 222 body. I'm sure you understand.

One little step at a time.

I just got back into flying after about a 16 year break. I learned to fly back then on a Shuttle and still love that little bird. If I could find a new kit with decent parts support, I'd pick one up just to be nostalgic.

Glad you're enjoying it!
