Still considering the G31 over the ZYX-S...but still hoping someone can answer my question about the documented "bail-out" capabillity. I am very curious if that is a mis-statement or add-on or future capability.

CIPIOH -

This basically means that the governor can be configured to have a bail out like some ESCs have. It is time based so that after about 8 seconds following throttle cut the governor will spin up faster for bail out. It reverts to normal start up once this time is exceeded.

I hope this helps you out.

In other words, it does NOT have an auto-level or self-stabilizing feature.

The package seemed different from what I have seen on youtube - it felt smaller and . I got 2 x SRx cables and a Hobbywing phase sensor included , but I did not get a screwdriver

Robird released the newer G31 recently with new plastic packaging. Customers are getting 2 SRx1 adaptors and a phase sensor for the Governor functionality feature of the G31. They aren't supplying screwdrivers in the kits though so that's maybe something that HK had on the set as they were filming.

Thanks SDedic214

I am facing a small issue. Has anyone noticed a small interaction in the tail rotor during pitch pumps.
On the bench, when i give continuous +ve and -ve pitch, I notice the tail slider move a bit during the movement.

Has anyone else seen this?

That is tail pre-comp, completely normal. You can increase or decrease as needed.

It's compensation for pitch change for the rudder. It helps with tail hold on pitch pumps and hard collective maneuvers.

YES I CAN'T GET IT TO FLY CORRECTLY!

I've been scratching my head and trying different things for over a MONTH now on this new 550 I built!

I've replaced several things including servos thinking that was the problem - it has an extremely slow collective, which creates almost a rubber-band like effect of slingshotting the heli up and down in the air as i'm trying to compensate! The person that sold me the Robird stated that he flew it multiple times and it was perfect on his 450, however it's just not working out correctly at all on my 550!

First I've heard of a problem like that. Can you connect heli to your pc and take some screen shots of all of your settings?

I've been over all the settings a dozen times, the servos are all set up perfectly, the 8 degrees is perfect, the 12 degrees is perfect, swash compensates perfectly when tilted, and when I manage to get it into a hover the cyclic actually responds perfectly and crisply - very strange indeed! (I've also tried with analog, 125hz, and 333hz settings)

I thought the cheap servos I was using were just underpowered, but last night I spent $125 on some DS610's and an hour installing them, and absolutely no change! head is smooth, swash is smooth, it's just a mystery! ESC is YEP120hv governed by "GovStore", BEC is ccbecpro@6v

I'm thinking about just bypassing the Robird completely and going NoBar for a hover-test, to see if it's the FBL controller or something else, as I'm driving myself nuts with this

What's your pitch curve in your Tx?
Does the collective move normal sitting in the bench?
I assume being a 550 size your using a full Rx, have you connected to it directly and seen if moves properly?
