Hey guys I know this may sound crazy but my heli flies fine with these. Turnigy 5000 mah 6S 30C. balances fine and fits under my cheapy canopies just fine. I have a fusuno Canopy that they also fir under with redrilling the mount holes in the back a half an inch down from the factory location. Don't know the weight and size but the 3300 I used to fly did not balance my helicopter out well and they also got hot to much for my taste. Doin Mild 3D. Flips, rolls, Tick Tocks and some invert flight.

Only thing aft of the main shaft is my RX and Gyro. And that is a spartan quark. Very lite. But I do realize that weight may affect the crisp maneuvers. Thankfully I am not at that point just yet. Tick tocks are about the extent of my hard 3d at this point. However are there not guys flying 12s setups on here?

I'm not into 3D yet just learning to do basic moves. I tried installing a Thunder Power 5000mah 6s 25c pack today and it fits without any mods to tray. Also modded my trex 500 with trex 600 skids to give me a little play with my landings. So far so good
EDIT: Video with the 5000mah 25c installed [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcUJqejWaWM[/ame] Last edited by ddj74; 02-05-2012 at 06:33 PM.. |

ddj74 - have you dumped the training gear yet cause you sure don't need it.

LOL...funny you said that. Today i finally cut loose the training gear and flew without it just fine. I was just being overly safe just in case till i got really confident. I'm still quite new but progressing quite fast for someone without help from an experienced flier.

How much flying time you got compared to the 3300mah and do you know the weight of the pack? |

Use vertical fin of 600 as well. This will give you more clearance to the tail blade when landing. |

biggest lipo in trex 500
The larger the pack, the more it affects the balance or cg in a negative way imho. Seems trex 500 copters are very well balanced with anything up to 3300 mah.

I have 5000mah 4s packs that I use in mine.No 3D, but I get 10 minutes scale flight time..............yes I'm a beginner but longer times are #1 priority for me.When/ if I'm ready I'll lighten the load and buzz up the HS.

Here's a link to a good distributor for Thunder Power batteries... http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...under+power+6s I would suggest THP2700-6SPP65 but again they are expensive.

been dorment for a while, just got a 500, I have a few 2650's 35-70c for it, but decided to testmount 4000 35-70 from my 700, fits perfect under stock canopy, its a very light battery, compared to other 4000/5000 though, CG is a bit up front, with the 2650's CG is to the rear, so Id say the 4000 is about as much to front, as 2650 is to rear.

Does a 135/43/53mm Lipo fit into a Rex 500 PRO?
Hi @ all!
Would a 135/43/43mm Lipo fit into a T-Rex 500 PRO? It is a 6S 3200 Lipo with 510g - would the CG be okay? THANKS, MMMM |

What are your opinions, of these batteries for the 500 there is a 2850mah weighing at 423grams
and a 3300mah one at 485 grams, which one would be a better buy, both are same price, at $59.00 each. http://www.rc711.com/shop/raiden-222...l?cPath=280_30 http://www.rc711.com/shop/raiden-222...l?cPath=280_30

My favorite is the 2650 35-70 and 2650 40-90c so far because of their light weight, 417 and 427 grams
CG is a bit to the rear with pack in "right" spot, but flies perfect, also you can move it a bit up front Also remember to get at least 35c, as most manufactureres tend to lie about their ratings, 25 at 3000 and 3300 is just to little, with the 500mx, nearing end of flight on a 2650 35-70c say each cell around 3.85-3.8 I can bog it way down, even running 95-90-95 curve on some manovers at "only" 12.5 degrees + cyclic the 3000, only comes in 25-50c, but is fairly light, the ampdraw consideirng its from china, and everyone lies on spec is borderline, how many are doing smack on this pack? the 3300 35-70c, is 522 grams, which is almost 100 grams more than the 2650s

my packs now are zippy 2650 30c. But my flight time using castle governor is only 3:40. I want to fly more with this setup...so I am thinking of buying bigger batteries!
