Default Fpv multiwiicopter Scarab frame

Here is my new fpv video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeGOLu0LsS8

I am waiting for my replacement 900Mhz FPV TX, so I used my old 5.8Ghz... Work not too bad but I don't have diversity here and I am not too confident so I remained close from base.

Board: Multiwiicopter Warthox V2
Frame: Scarab Quad
Motors: Gaui 300XS Scorpion
ESC: Turnigy Plush 10A / Gaui 10A (the same sold on different brands)
Video: Gopro Hero HD
FPV Gear: Hobbywireless 5.8Ghz / 200 mW

And now the new video including ESC failure and subsequent crash...
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoeY3Z9pbgI[/ame]

This is the native transmitted video. As I must play with my 5.8Ghz / 200 mW for the moment (waiting for a new 900 mHz TX), I was playing doing range tests with the stock combo from Hobby wireless. Simply one receiver with the stock 2dBi whip antena, no diversity. Stock antenna on the TX as well. I must admit I was quite impressed, I had no table with me so the receiver was not surelevated, on the ground and I got easily 500 meters.

I did 8 lipos before this flight but on this one, at the end of the sequence, one ESC died for unknown reason (only 15A on the 4 ESC/motors when it occured). I now hate these Turnigy plush 10A and I consider switching to plush 12 or 18A for more reliability.

I was lucky that the crash did not occur when I was at 130 meters high, I was just about to land. The Scarab did well in the crash, protecting the electronics as only one leg broke, nothing else!

Great videos Gregory this one too up until the crash. I like your music selections they go well with your videos. I'm into the tricopters and quads and so far I've been using the KKboard. Hopefully I can experience fpv myself soon.

A small flight test and FPV test of my just completed quad octa frame scarab...
All the Fpv gear neatly fitted between the 2 big plates, easy access to boom holders bolts for easy removal and or repair, nice gopro holder in front, these are the main advantages of this bigger frame.

Weight compared to classic scarab. I changed the plush 10A for plush 18A (increase of 40grams), used 20C batteries instead of 40C (gain of 40 grams), 2 big plates and 1 small instead of 4 small plates. Overall it is about 60 grams over the classic scarab. Flight time is the same. 7min30 on a 3S 2200mah Zippy for a total weight of 1.2 Kg.

Hello,

In this one, I connected my Fpv diversity ground station to my TV in the living room... Take off from the table, exit through the window to do a small Fpv tour in the garden and back in the house. I did 4 packs like that when I came back from the office tonight... Leaving and entering through the window are done in normal piloting, I feel it a little bit too risky, then I turn to the TV to continue in FPV.

If you do that, be very careful to 2 potential problems:
- when there are interferences in the reception, at once, the tv gave a black screen for one or two seconds... Just like some video glasses not adapted to Fpv can do... I did not panic, but knowing this, I stayed close to the house and I will use the Fpv glasses if I want to go a little big further.
- keep in mind that if you use 2.4Ghz like me and you stay in the house, your range is seriously impaired.

Here it is: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-4ielu9nuQ[/ame]

This one with my Multiwiicopter Scarab frame QuadOctaKopta which I am proud of...

Gopro HD Fpv in Chateau de Sceaux. The Château de Sceaux is a grand country house in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine, not far from Paris, France. Located in a park laid out by André Le Nôtre. The château was built for Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Louis XIV's minister of finance, who purchased the domaine in 1670. The present château, designed to evoke the style of Louis XIII, dates from the Second Empire. Some of Colbert's outbuildings remain, and the bones of the garden layout.

Hello Guys,

Here is my first video from French Polynesia. I did not expected that the wind would constantly blow at 15 knots with increase to 20-25 knots from time to time. See at 2min30, look at the trees and the angle of the Scarab to prepare for landing, I did wait for the wind to decrease before taking the opportunity to land. Another interesting item is the radio cutoff over the see at around 1min35, all 4 motors cut and the scarab started to fall just before recovering... Big stress!

Enjoy,

Gregory

Hello my friends,

I have not posted anything for a while because I was working in preparing something… I did not like my out of range over the sea in French Polynesia, even if it was a happy end. So I married my Scarab with the Thomas Scherrer Long Range System.

This is my first try in FPV with the TSLRS and second flight with the Carbonbirds 775 combined with 0905 Tri Props. Gello is gone !!!

Regarding the Thomas Scherrer Long Range System, I have the TX V5 Pro and the RX NR 600, both received from Danish Aviation Systems. Steven Friberg there has been very supportive and helpful.

The quadricopter is a QuadOcta Scarab with a Whartox. Absolutely no problem in setting-up TSLRS with Multiwiicopter, very straight forward.

Hello,

Here is my first released video made with the YSiix, mixed FPV and LOS images.
I release it both on YouTube and Vimeo... I started with Vimeo because I don't like copyright restrictions on YouTube based on the selected music.

Chateau du Marechal de Saxe (2 min 30 sec)

For those who like to follow multicopterpilot.com channel on Vimeo, here is the link:

Hello,

Bordeaux wine Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the big ones. Robert Parker gave it the highest score of 100 in 2009 (the last released). Attached to the castle is the 5 star hotel and spa “Les sources de Caudalie”. Both belong to the Cathiard couple, French Ski champions in the 1960’s.

The Scarab FPV Reconn found it’s alter ego…

Please enjoy:
Smith Haut Lafitte and Caudalie / Wine and Spa - Aerial - Scarab Reconn FPV Quad (3 min 18 sec)
