Logically, you would just divide the fuel capacity of the helicopter by the engine's fuel consumption per minute and the product should be the time in minutes. Right?

It's really simple. When you think you've been flying long enough, press the red button in the left corner. Presto, automatic calculation. Just kidding.

Are you modding an existing model or something for G3? You can display the fuel levels on the screen while you fly, if you just want a quick heads up. If nothing else, grab a model with the right sized engine and fly a full tank through it, while keeping track of the time. Then it'll be easy to calculate.

NavGuides.

I'm going from memory here, but you can display them by pressing 1 on your keyboard or clicking View | Show | NavGuides. There is an item on the View menu that allows you to select different fields to display in the NavGuides window. One of the options will show the amount of fuel remaining.

Yes, Travis is right on the money. Hitting '1' on the keyboard turns the Nav Guide display on. Or you can click 'View', 'Gadgets', and then check mark 'Nav Guides' to bring the window up on the screen.

Also, to choose what you want displayed in the Nav Guide, click on 'View' with the mouse, 'Gadgets', then 'Edit Nav Guides...' to bring up a window with all the options you can display on your Nav Guide. Just make sure 'Engine: fuel remaining' is check marked so it will display.

Besides fuel, I like to display air speed, distance above ground, engine, head, and tail RPMs, plus wind speed and updraft speed.

If you don't ever want to run out of fuel, click 'Simulation', 'settings..', 'physics', and you have the option to turn on, or off the unlimited fuel option.

That should take care of things.
