Logo 600sx M1 12 tooth what motor?

Hi all

Well I've gone logo mad! Xxtreme 700, 500se and now a 600sx!!! I love my wife!

I have changed the gear to mod 1 and have a 12 tooth pinion. I was planning on 12 cell with a Kontronic motor, BUT, on reading all the views I am now unsure!

10 or 12 cell
Scorpion or Kontronic.

I am going with optipower packs, if 12 cell it's 3400 but like I say pretty lost now!! Lol

Any ideas very welcome.

Scorpion HKIII-4035-450 or Scorpion HKIII-4035-500

for 12S with a kontronic ESC. I'd go 450KV and a 12 tooth.

the 500KV is a good option and is what I use, but with12 tooth it favors higher head speeds (2200). 11 tooth would probably yield a larger usable RPM range. but I'm uncertain of the 11tooth's strength. the SX gears should be stronger.

have you used the mr mel head speed calculator?

I've not looked at Mr Mels calc yet as I was unsure of HS there seems to be lots of folk saying no more than 1850? Is that 10 cell?

Are you running the 500kv with 12 tooth pinion on mod 1 gear? If so what head speed?

If your spining 600 blades I think mikado recommends 2100 max head speed. With 10s a 4035-560 is what they suggest. I'm building a sx right now with a 4035-450 on 12s with a 12 tooth. Some people are running 2200-2300 hs. This is my first mikado so this is what i have read here. good luck.

I use 500KV with 12S and 12 tooth I run 2200rpm. and yes, mod1.

2200 is "high" but is normal for 600s with heavy lipos.like 12s 3800mA for aggressive 3D. keep in mind that these heli fly great with lower head speeds like 1900rpm and lighter lipos (like 12s 3300mA). and you'll get longer flight times. but I think the 450KV is a better choice for 1900 to 2100 head speeds.

there is not a 1850RPM limit for a 600sx. there is a 1850rpm limit for 600SE with 690mm blades..

I'd go with 500kv, you can always get a 11 tooth later if you like it much lower..

Ok so opti 3500 six cells x2, 106 tooth main, 12 tooth pinion, Kontronic 700-45 long, gives me 2049 at 70%

I am no 3d flyer, just sport so I'm thinking 620ish blades and 95 tails??

How does that sound??

Why run so high HS if not flying 3D ? I'd go for 1800-1900 with these blades. Also, you may try longer tail blades for better tail authority.

If I drop to 11 tooth pinion I will have 1826 at 70% and 1032 at 80%.

I think 1850 - 1900 is good starting point. Adjust up or down according to your liking.

Btw, don't trust HS calculators too much. Bring tachometer with you to measure the actual speed.

Thanks only thing is, 600 blades or longer and 700-45 or a scorpion 500kv? I just want long as poss flight times??

600 will generally give you longer flight time but 620 will provide more lift and will auto better.

I gonna have a jive 80hv. I search my motor too ! I tought 4035-450 with 11 thooth, correct ?

I will suggest Scorpion HKII-4225-500KV. It has thicker main shaft on the inside (8mm), it has bigger bearings. Probably bearing life will be longer than Pyro 700-52. Power wise this motor is a monster. Only downside is running temperature. But it is not that high. If you buy a Scorpion motor you can find replacement shaft and bearings. But if you buy a Kontronik motor you have to send it Germany to replace the shaft and bearings (of course you can make a shaft if you have the tools).

Which pinion are you using ? The 8mm shaft is ok for the counter bearing ?

How many rpm do you have with it ?

Output shaft is 6mm but part that inside of motor can is 8mm. So it is compatible with 600 SX pinion and counter bearing.

Where did you get the Scorpion HKII-4225-500KV? The lowest KV I see is 550
