Hi. Has anyone cut off the 2 front inner tabs to allow their lipos to fit ?

Yes they have.
And some have reinforced and I believe some have not.

I cut one of my tabs off....and left the other. Braced it with a little bit of aluminum. Of course the new batteries I just bought (Revolectrix 6S 40C 5200mah) should fit without modification in the frame -- so if I get a new battery tray, I'll be leaving it stock.
