Hobby King Copters
Greetings Epoweredrc, I was just on another thread looking for information about these birds too. I have my eye on the HK 500 GT, and they do look tempting. They seem to be flyable and for the money they are very tempting. I own a Helimax 400 and they look every bit as good as those. They seem to have sold a bunch of them, so I'm hoping someone will report in on them; I know they're out there somewhere. Keep the Faith... Franz

the clones
I have bought a 450 from hobby king and a truck load of batteries. everything is great and it takes about 2 weeks to get to CA.
go to xheli.com, they have a exi 500 that i bought when it was $187 now its $139. great copter. i bought ds620 servos and a older align rce600 gyro with jr servo. i put in a align 500 motor with a 60 amp esc from align. ps my align esc has not caught on fire yet. get your batteries from hobby king, i use 2 3 cell batteries with the wire connector to make them 22 volts. peice of cake. cheap to get in and once you get her flying it gets hard to go back to the 450's i have smashed it a couple of times and put on a align tail gear. the thing flys great, but glue and screw everything and pay attention to your detail on the head, take your time with it. the rewards are woodies on every flight. you just got to hear a set of large blades in heavy collective ...... my exi 500 flys outstanding and just wails through the sky. buy either one take your time building it and glue everything. you will not be sorry and the price in is better than a name brand 450 or 250 for that matter. |
