Heli goes crazy

My 800 went a little crazy yesterday. Everything looks fine but dont know what happened. You wont see it in the vid but it starts shaking like crazy. You will hear it though and its never done it before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=39B75svWi6Q Any idea's?

Sounds like the motor was kicking out.

Normally they let out a good squeel when there going out of sync , hard to tell if let out a chirp as you let off on the pitch.


What rpm are you at ?
Which version of software on esc ?
Batteries now / good ?
Anything in vbar log ?


Mabye post some info on the heli

This heli only gets a flight once in a while. The last flight before this happened it showed no signs of any issues. It was flipping/rolling and FFF just as smooth as can be. I am also having issues with my E5 (mini Vbar) and crashed my 450 (AR7200BX) but not sure if it was me or not. Starting to think it might be a Tx issue.

Your other heli's doing the same thing ?

A bad pot on the throttle channel would sound like that

And as mentioned a slipping one way would also. This one is looking more plausable as you have some non issue flights.
Did you grease the oneway during the build ?

Try playing with the transmitter in the servo screen to see if you can get any random movements.
I'd assume spectrum has there issues sorted by now (bad pots on dx6i , teething issues with dx8, etc) and the dx18 being the flagship should have some better hardware inside (i assume).



The log will shed some light i think

Any pics of the setup and wiring ?

Have you read the article about placing sats properly ? (archeli site )

When looking at the sat the left side wisker is the active antenna , the other side a ground reference ( aka lookin pretty). Need active antenna not blocked by CF

Could also have been a slipped pinion on the motor shaft.
Check it out for alignment and security.

Sound like is not using governor and is having issue with throttle curve !!

Not running gov, sats are mounted right, Rx packs good. Both my 800 and 550 are acting funny. Although the 550 did it while I was inverted. Everything looks fine on the heli's. I will check the servo screen. Invalad file comes up when I try to post Vbar logs.

if you change the name on the file from the default setting, add .pdf to the end

If the 550 is doing the same thing , that eliminates alot of the hardware.

I'd focus on the transmitter.

Do you have another tx to test with ?

On a completely different note did you know a Logo XXtreme 800 will fit into the back of a 2009 Corvette Z06 (As long as you have the canopy off) The tail just sits between the two seats!!

I had the XX, TDR and my Logo 400 with charger (But no Generator) in the back of my new to me Z06

Thats funny. The hatch area of my vette has my custom sound system so its a little smaller. Trust me...I have thought about seeing how many heli's/planks I can fit it there and take to the field.
