Nice build!

Love the small details that Align put in for ease of assembly / easy access and installation options in this new 500 kit.

Subscribing to thread.

Excellent build thread. Like the pictures and the comments. Going to get one of these as soon as they hit my LHS. Where did you get yours?

Rotaryguy,

Your reporting has been top notch and interesting. I appreciate the time you're investing to let us see the build. It consoles us until we receive our 500EFL Pro's

Very nice write up

couple quick questions
What is the AUW minus battery? About what does the canopy weigh? What sized cells are you using and how is the CG, where did you have to place esc and battery slid up or down on tray to get CG?

thank you

This thing looks really nice. I have a 450 pro and I have wanted to go larger. I think this is the bird for me. It is the perfect balance of size and cost for me. I am married so I don't get as many toys as I use to so I have to pick and choose what I really want and this seems the best answer for my income.

I wanted to add that this will help me tons when the time comes. Thanks!

Man, I thought my 450 Pro Beastx build thread was pretty good......it pales in comparison to this one

Outstanding work!

I will be using this thread instead of the actual manual

rotaryguy, do you know which batteries you will be using? I have 2 Gens Ace 3300 packs and am hoping thay won't be too heavy. I think there's a video of Alan flying the Pro on a 3300. The Gens are pretty light for the most part.

Dear Admin,

It would be a great idea to create a new sub-forum for this model as was done with the 600EFL Pro, and this thread as sticky in it.

Thanks.

David

Does the new 500 use the old main gear? The Align site does not show or list a new one like in the pictures I have seen.

New slant (helical) main gear, keep an eye on my first page posts for additions and edits.

I added a bunch more 'Whats in the Box' photos to the very first post, trying to maintain some flow here and not get this thread out of order. So first post is basically unboxing minus tail parts, then second post starts the frame build, moving on from there to the tail parts with disassembly. Tail assembly coming up and much, much more to come.
