Default Just got a Extreme 800 anything I should know

As the title says, anything I should know. Bought it used, less than 10 flights old as it came from RH. Servos are Futaba BLS157HV cyclic servos, Futaba BLS256HV tail .
Looking forward to getting it checked over good and ready for a new maiden by me

If the YGE hasn't been updated to the latest firmware then be ready for a tail kick on start up (Especially noticable on a hard surface)

The YGE/V-Bar soft start isn't very good (Especially not with those big blades) and tends to kick the tail around when you power up (Can be REALLY exciting if your not expecting it)

If you take off on grass it's just annoying though.

Make sure you have and use the Canopy pins (Little cotter pins that go into the canopy posts to keep the canopy on)

I'm sure its simple, but, what is the process of udating the YGE. Plug and play?

Readyheli gave me an RMA to send it to them.

They sent it to mikado

Mikado sent it to YGE

YGE will do a hardware tweak of some sort, and reflash the firmware

And will send ip it back to mikado

Who will send it to readyheli

Who will send it to me

It's been a month so far. Of course Germany closes for three weeks over the Christmas holidays, so I have some more waiting to do, according to readyheli.

You could send it direct to YGe yourself, but then it isn't a free upgrade, has to go thru mikado,

Depends really

If your taking off from grass and are ready for it (And tend to take off the same way) it's really more of an anoyance than anything else.

If you take off from a slick surface though the thing can whip around 90+ degrees on you (Go from taking off tail in to taking off side or a little bit nose in)

You can help with this by putting skid nuts on it as well (But I don't really like skid nuts that much for several reasons)

I fly off grass most always, we have a really nice field.

I plan on trying Mr Mel's suggerstions on my setup and see if I can minimize the tail kick.

What is it about skid nuts that you do not like?

Thanks for your input...

The update also adds 16S capability, so worth it for that as well.
Apart from that, nothing else to really worry about ( pins all ready mentioned)
Just enjoy it

I thought there was no motor/pinion combo available to run 16s?

Well I got the Logo up in the air today and all went well. When I programmed my gov I was able to get -108 with no pause when coming out of TH. I set my gov @ n 1650 iu1 1750 and iu2 1850 and on initial spool up no tail kick at all flying off grass. Spooled the heli up on concrete to see how it acted and maybe a 15° tail kick so all is well.
Really like the thump of the blades @ 1650 hs. Will get more time with it this weekend but very pleased.

You will love the feel of the big logo. I am glad it's not kicking that badly on you . Did you do Mr Mel's settings?? I never actually did those to mine (I hardly ever take off from anything OTHER than grass) but that first time from concrete was an eye opener.

I now have the Kosmik and it's soft start is SO SMOOTH.

Yes did MrMels setup on the throttle and worked great. Will get more in tune with the xtreme this weekend. Very pleased so far.
