Default Moving from DX-18 to XG-14

I am finally done with Spektrum and picking up my first ever JR (air) Tx. Looking forward to seeing just how smooth the gimbals really are.

The XG14 sticks are the best out there at least until the 28X. They are better than the 12Z/14MZ, 18MZ. I just got rid of a 12Z. I have been flying my XG14E for 8 months. I like it. Programming is adequate and a good value at this price point. I assume there will be new radios between the XG14 and 28X - with new sticks. Right now I would rather have the XG14 with the new sticks than an XG11. All of the JR line needs voice telemetry.

I went from a DX8 to a XG14 and don't regret it one bit. Yes, the screen is small, almost a downgrade from even the DX8 screen (let alone your DX18), no fancy features like voice telemetry, but the gimbals make up for it. (Not a plank flyer so I don't 'fly my screen') I had my sights set on a DX9, but once I realized it's using the same cheap gimbals the DX7s/DX8 use (for me the collective gets 'gritty' in 6 months), I decided to dump Spektrum. You're also going to love the fact that you don't need a bulky TM1000 for telemetry...

I have been flying an XG14 for the last nine months or so. I second the comments made by others, above-very solid radio with extremely smooth/well made gimbals. More than enough programming for what I need. The slightly smaller screen is not an issue.

I have it set up in two helicopters and two fixed wing aircraft, at the moment.

All of my new aircraft will be set up with JR DMSS. I will start upgrading the older ones when the 28X arrives.

I've been looking at the XG14E myself...it will be my first JR radio. I'm currently using a Futaba 10CHG but I'm going to be using the XG14E for the future. It's reasonably priced and I really like the way it looks.
