Default HBK3 Questions

I've been looking around and but haven't found a definite answer to my question so i thought i would ask instead. Is it correct that i need to buy the receiver if i want my dx6i to work with the king 3?? Is there anything else i would have to do in order for my dx6i to work??

I've never owned a HBK3 but doing a little bit of research I've found that it uses a standalone rx so yes I think if you replaced the stock rx with a Spektrum you would be able to fly it with your dx6i. Here's the user manual if you don't already have it.

You will only need to get a 6 channel spectrum receiver to work. I used a satellite but not required.

Good luck

Hi spnall4
It's been over a year since your post. How did your conversion to dx6i go?
I just installed an Orange Rx from Hobby King into my King3 for use with my dx6i.
Let me know if you want to compare notes.
