Default Kasama teams up with Thai Navy to develop UAV

Wow, this is getting serious!

Congrats Kasama!
Hope Kasama doesn't drop interest for poor RC freaks like us if this project is successful (Which I sure wish it is for them)

Here you go guys, check this Frankenheli out
Taken from RC Heliresource:
Here is a concept UAV platform from Kasama Helicopters having its first flight. This is the DTI RTN KSM150V1 GT being flown by Gavin Broadbent. Nice looking platform Gavin. Can’t wait to see what this platform can do as the testing continues. Thanks for sharing Gavin. To check out this vid of the DTI RTN KSM150V1 GT, please click through.

It's pretty much R&D complete, he did tell me how many the navy were taking but I forget now, they also want, and are working on, some quads. When anything becomes available I'll pop it on our facebook page.

I watched the big one fly at a military demo at the factory back in November, it's a big ass machine up close.

Hey Ben : so it's actually going into service ?. I watched the vids, but they were all being flown RC by a guy walking very close by - it seemed a long way from finished.

Any videos of it working as an actual UAV ?.

I have non, I filmed it starting up at the military demo, stopped filming as I thought it wasn't going to happen soon, then she took off and I forgot to film again.

He flew manually in GPS mode doing about 200-300m circuits, from memory I think it was the 250cc petrol version.

Any more updates on this Ben ?.

That startup seems to be the only one nothing flying even after 4 months : is the project still going ?.

Their website says it would be entering active service about a year ago !.

It flew that day and has flown at many military demos, I don't know if they used it in service yet, I've not been in Thailand since November.

Sounds great - can you post some links to some videos ?. I'm interested to see how well the dual-tail rotor gasser works.

There are quite a few from prototype 3 years ago, until the end of last year, you may be aware there is currently a military coup in Thailand which has slowed things down.
