Gold Red accents with gold pulleys look good together.

I slapped it in really quickly but I think I need the new pinion too.. For the secondary drive.. The belt is still low on the main gear and that's the real problem.

Hope you get it running well mate. My parts left Hong Kong last night. I order the gt2 drive setup, updated second pinion and the new motor mount, plus the autorotation gear. That should be all I need until I crash

Nope not me if that's who you mean. That pulley will SLOW the tail down, less stable tail control

Fitted my GT2 belt upgrade, that works fine, now on full collective climb outs, the tail belt is skipping! it just gets better!

I ordered the rest of the stuff I need.. How frustrating to spend $70 on top of buying the heli that make it the way it was originally designed. Maybe by the time the rest of the parts come in the x-nova motors will be at heli-direct.

I should get all the upgrade parts by early next week. They left HK last Oct 22 and arrived in SF, CA this morning of Oct 25.

My upgrades arrived today. They are all installed now, but there were some issues with them that I'll tell you about.

First, the fit between the first stage pulley and the second stage pinion isnt good enough. Its slightly too loose, so when you tighten the pin, the pulley goes crooked. My fix for this was to locktite it on, then BEND the pulley into a straight position. I'm happy with it now (its perfect), but if it didn't work I would have been extremely pissed.

Second, the new motor mount doesn't raise the motor enough. The belt is right on the very lower edge of the first stage pulley. I left that as is because I don't care.

Third, the new second stage pinion isn't high enough, so the belt is too low on the main pulley. I fixed this by raising the pinion with a shim (trex 450 feathering shaft shims are perfect for this), and then added four under the motor mount. The result is perfect belt alignment.

The new tail pulley went straight in without mods, but the belt isn't perfectly centred like it was with the plastic pulley.

Despite all the mods I needed to get it how I wanted, its a much smoother heli now. Very happy. Just remember, if you need to shim your motor mount and second stage pinion, use trex 450 feathering shaft shims!!!

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for some honest feedback on these 'upgrades'. I was so excited about building one this winter but I think I officially need to be talked off the Gaui ledge.

I have two chase 360. On one all the upgrade parts went in fine other than flipping the 50t gear upside down. I only used two thin shim washers to take out some play on second reduction pinion. The other chase I had to use some washers on motor mount and 2nd reduction pinion to get it all lined up as good as I could.

If KDS just accepted that there are variations in parts, they could supply shims with the kits and everyone could get perfect alignment. Shims are an elegant solution, so why not include them KDS?

Anyway, its a great heli overall, extremely smooth and quiet. We are hobbyists, so simple mods shouldn't be a big deal to us. None of these mods were difficult. Heck even my Trex, which is supposed to be a proven design needed a whole bunch of mods to get it perfect. More $$$ and time than what I've done on my chase for sure.
