Odd , I was expecting the jesus bolt hole (as compared to the tail drive pin hole) to be a little bit further apart (700 shaft) , that would explain having to turn out the swash links 2 turns and grip link out 2 turns also.

There could have been a slight manufacturing difference also. I waited a bit to jump into the 800 , but knew I would jump on the 700 right away. My 700 was one of the first shipments to Canada at a time when Mikado was up to there ears in orders.

That seems to be my only explanation.

On the bright side it's flying again and flying well so the mystery continues but everything is running good.

One day i'll pull the 700 shaft out I have in there now and compare it to the one that came out.

I have dozens of flights on this heli and whilst I'm no 3D smack pilot, I do know how to punish the 700/800Xx, usually by poor collective management
Well, that came back to bite me quicker than I expected I'm not posting the photo but it wasn't pretty.

I thermal'd the ESC on a full collective upright to inverted move and lost power (but not BEC). I'm still looking at the logs (that's a PITA for sure) but I was nudging 215A at the point of disaster. The BEC was still strong and only hit 14.5A.

Yes, the main bent a little but it did hit from approx 5m with no power. It was still enough to rip the front of the frame off. Total cost will be around a 1K and I'll probable send the Kosmik S/N00062 back for a "spit and polish" since all the tabs are bent and I want the experts to tell me it's OK.

I think I'll reincarnate it as the 800Xx from whence it came.
