Default Beam avantgarde 600

I have had my Beam Avantgarde for a couple of months now, and i am very pleased with it, and extremely happy that i got one!
It all began because i was looking for a 50 size heli to be my new 3d training machine and a girl flying in our flying field bought the Avantgarde because she thought it was pretty
I saw her hoover it and decided i wanted one too..

It flys so different from all the other helis i have had, it is very light in the air and so easy to do tricks with, it just feels like you have extra time to think, it doesn't just fall..

I am especially happy with it because if you crash it, it is super easy to repair, it takes me shorter time to repair the Beam than it takes for me to repair the Trex 450pro and that is fast:-)
I noticed how easy it is already when i build it from scratch, the manual is only 8 pages
and in 1:1 i got surprised when i finished mine, huh already done:eek:

When i crash it, it rarely bends the feathering shaft and also not often the main shaft, it always takes the red blade holder grips, i think they have been made soft on purpose, because it really helps not bending those shafts!
On the frame it is only those extra "crash parts" that brakes, it is those that hold the canopy, they are on the frame but not part of the frame, so the frame is very protected against crash and the canopy is made with good quality and it is very thick, so the batteries and frames are also protected by the thick canopy.
The frame is not super thick, but has extra carbon in each corner, so the frame is strong, but the heli is still super light weight, i think it is the same weight as the logo 600 with plastic frame..

So far i haven't had any problems, i changed the belt to the upgrade belt so it doesn't make sounds from belt touching boom nothing else..
The first time i flew it i couldn't stop smiling
it took me only 1 maiden flight and 1 get to know flight, and then i felt like i never flew anything else

I love my Beam Avantgarde

Here i crash it HARD!

it took me 60 minutes and i was airborne again
A friend of mine made this video at the Pitchbrothers Smackdown this year..

I never owned a Beam e4 but after trying the Avantgarde i think i want one

With kind regards Benjamin

My Avantgarde weighs 7 lbs. exactly - with a Hyperion 5 Ah 6s 35C battery.

(Flight time 5 minutes.)

A 12s setup would be just slightly heavier.

Cheers
Erik

Who has this 600 and a 700 size and what would be the difference? Is there that big of difference between a 600 and 700? Someone at the field suggested me sell my 500 and go larger. He was flying a 700.

Speaking of gears, I am finishing my build tonight and wanna put some numbers in my governor.
Does the black main gear have 120 teeth or 150 ? I found both numbers online.
I am using the 12er pinion on a 4025 on 6S
Looking so much forward to tomorrow
Maiden flight :-D

Using MrMel i am getting solid 2200 using a 120 gear , 12 pinion and 1100 kv.
So I guess it's not 150 which would result in 1650...
Ah screw it, I'll count em myself

Aaaand its down ..
Question guys , how big is your distance of the tail servo horn ?
I found out the swash servos have 17 mm.
On the tail I have only 13 using a DS 620 Servo .
Is that too little ? the metal rod looks straight though .
