Hi dchekas,

I have a question regarding External Voltage Mode on the Futaba R7008SB. Is it possible to use main Lipo batteries + External Voltage wire attached to R7008 and being connected thru separate BEC without receiver to get burned?

Since user manual applies that receiver should be powered first before main lipos are plugged in. If that is true than I would not understand why Futaba telemetry receivers even have this option in the first place since majority is flying heli only with direct main lipo attached.

Thanks in advanced for reply,

Peter

Despite the warning, I've definitely plugged my model in without the receiver being powered up first many times over the years. It has never caused an issue.

This is very useful information, thanks for so quick response . It would be quite unreasonable to have this feature if it can't be used directly with main power that is for shure.

Do you think it would be a problem to use Gryphon QUASAR Hyper 75V 20A HV Switching BEC GSR-7075 LMT with On/Off Switch : (GSB-1010P), since On/Off switch being attached directly to main power that delays powering of the receiver?

I have 12S 44V main Lipo setup for scale heli, and the External voltage data would be most welcome to have it.

Did you use Futaba External Voltage Mode in similar setup( different brand of BEC and on/off switch)?
